✨ Avishkar College Level Poster Display Competition 2026-27 ✨

We successfully organized and conducted the 'Avishkar College Level Poster Display Competition' on Thursday, 17th September 2026, providing an enriching platform for students to showcase their research-oriented thinking, innovative ideas and creative potential.

The event was graced by Dr. Prabhakar Varade, Head, Department of Animation, PES’s Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Shivajinagar, Pune – 5, who was invited as the Judge for the competition. His expertise and valuable observations added immense academic value to the event and provided the participating students with meaningful guidance and encouragement.

A total of 10 posters were presented by the students across diverse categories, namely Humanities, Fine Arts & Languages; Commerce, Management & Law; Pure Sciences; Agriculture & Animal Husbandry; and Engineering & Technology. The posters reflected the students’ curiosity, creativity and ability to explore ideas beyond the conventional boundaries of classroom learning.

The participating students demonstrated commendable confidence, clarity and enthusiasm while presenting their posters. They articulated their ideas effectively, explaining the concepts, objectives, methodology and significance of their respective topics in a well-structured manner. The thoughtful presentation of information, creative visual elements and purposeful integration of research ideas made the posters both informative and engaging.

The competition also served as a valuable opportunity for students to develop essential skills in research communication, critical thinking, scientific presentation, creativity and effective articulation of ideas. The interaction with the judges further enabled the participants to receive constructive inputs and gain a deeper understanding of presenting their research in a concise and impactful manner.

The event concluded on a highly encouraging note, celebrating the spirit of inquiry, innovation and academic excellence among the students and reinforcing the institution’s commitment to nurturing young minds through meaningful research and innovation-oriented initiatives. 🤩

⭐ हिंदी दिवस : भाषा, संस्कृति और संभावनाओं का उत्सव ⭐

१४ सितंबर को प्रतिवर्ष मनाए जाने वाले हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर हमारे महाविद्यालय में “हिंदी का महत्व और हिंदी में रोजगार की उपलब्धियाँ” विषय पर एक प्रेरणादायी एवं ज्ञानवर्धक अतिथि व्याख्यान आयोजित किया गया।

इस अवसर पर डॉ. शिवदत्त वावलकर, सहायक प्राध्यापक एवं हिंदी विभागाध्यक्ष, एस.एन.डी.टी. कला एवं वाणिज्य महाविद्यालय, पुणे, ने विद्यार्थियों से संवाद साधते हुए हिंदी भाषा के व्यापक महत्व तथा हिंदी के माध्यम से उपलब्ध रोजगार एवं व्यावसायिक अवसरों पर अत्यंत उपयोगी जानकारी एवं मार्गदर्शन प्रदान किया।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत हिंदी विषय की प्राध्यापिका श्रीमती सुरेखा भुंडे द्वारा अतिथि वक्ता के परिचय एवं हिंदी दिवस के महत्व पर प्रकाश डालते हुए की गई। महाविद्यालय की माननीय प्राचार्या डॉ. वर्षा बापट ने अपने संबोधन में हिंदी के राष्ट्रीय, सामाजिक एवं सांस्कृतिक महत्व को रेखांकित करते हुए विद्यार्थियों को हिंदी भाषा के प्रति गौरव एवं आत्मीयता की भावना विकसित करने के लिए प्रेरित किया।

डॉ. शिवदत्त के समृद्ध विचारों और सारगर्भित मार्गदर्शन ने विद्यार्थियों को यह समझने का अवसर दिया कि हिंदी केवल संवाद और अभिव्यक्ति की भाषा नहीं, बल्कि ज्ञान, संस्कृति और करियर की अनेक संभावनाओं का सशक्त माध्यम भी है। 📖✨

We organised an insightful session on “AI in Accounts” on Wednesday, 9th September 2026, conducted by Mr. Vinod Mahale, Director, Edu Skills.

The session introduced students to the growing influence of AI in Accounting, offering valuable insights into emerging technologies, smarter accounting practices, automation, accuracy and the evolving role of accounting professionals.

All in all, the session was no less than a meaningful learning experience that encouraged students to understand, adapt and stay future-ready in the rapidly evolving world of Accounting.

✨ AVISHKAR ORIENTATION SESSION | From Ideas to Innovation ✨

We successfully conducted an 'Avishkar Orientation Session' for all our students on Tuesday, 8th September 2026, under the insightful guidance of Dr. Shilpa Mujumdar, Vice Principal (Research), PES’s Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Shivajinagar, Pune – 5.

The session was organised with the purpose of acquainting students with the Avishkar Research Convention, guiding them in identifying and developing meaningful research ideas, and preparing them to present their work effectively at the competition. It provided students with a clear understanding of the key parameters, expectations and essential aspects considered for Avishkar, enabling them to approach their research projects with greater clarity and confidence.

The session was intriguing, interactive and highly enriching, encouraging students to think beyond conventional ideas, explore innovative possibilities and recognise the importance of originality, relevance, methodology and effective presentation in research.

Dr. Mujumdar’s valuable insights and encouraging guidance transformed the session into a meaningful learning experience and ignited greater enthusiasm among our students to question, explore, innovate and create. 🌱🔬✨

💉🩸 Thalassemia Awareness & Free Screening | Creating Awareness, Encouraging Prevention 💉🩸

On Saturday, 22nd August 2026, we organised an insightful 'Thalassemia Awareness Session and Free Screening Programme' in association with Janakalyan Rakta Kendra, Pune, creating a meaningful platform for students to understand this inherited blood disorder and the importance of timely screening.

The session was thoughtfully conducted by Mrs. Manasi Thakur, who sensitised students about what Thalassemia is, how it can be inherited, the significance of carrier screening, and the role of awareness in prevention and responsible health decisions. Special emphasis was placed on the 18–25 age group, highlighting why young adults should be informed about their Thalassemia status and make screening a part of responsible health awareness.

The subsequent 'Free Screening' provided students with an opportunity to take a proactive step towards understanding their health while contributing to a larger cause of creating a Thalassemia-aware and responsible society.

Through initiatives such as these, we strive to empower our students with knowledge, awareness and preventive healthcare practices, reaffirming our commitment to holistic student well-being. ✨

The first session of “गप्पा With मनमित्र” was conducted with great warmth, openness and enthusiasm. ✨

The session began with our Hon. Principal, Dr. Varsha Bapat, highlighting the importance of mental health, emotional well-being and protecting our inner peace. Her thoughtful words set the perfect tone for an engaging and meaningful interaction.

The session was beautifully facilitated by Dr. Amit Ingale Sir, Professional Psychologist, who created a comfortable, non-judgemental and welcoming environment where students felt free to express themselves, share their thoughts and truly open up.

What made the session super enriching was the active participation and involvement of the students. Their openness, curiosity and willingness to communicate made the very first गप्पा With मनमित्र a truly encouraging beginning.
