Dr. Grischa Liebel, dósent við Tölvunarfræðideild í HR hefur síðastliðin fimm ár fléttað saman við rannsóknir sínar rannsóknir á taugafjölbreytileika (neurodiversity) og hvernig sýn fólks á einhverfurófi, eða með ADHD, getur haft á þróun hugbúnaðar.
Hann segir að nýta megi taugafjölbreytileikann í auknum mæli fyrir spennandi nýsköpun t.d. á sviði gervigreindar og hugbúnaðar. Mikilvægt sé að nemendur upplifi að þeir tilheyri háskólasamfélaginu og oft megi gera litlar breytingar til þess að láta skynsegin nemendum líða betur í umhverfinu.

Grischa Liebel, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science, has, over the past five years, combined his research with studies on neurodiversity and how the perspectives of people on the autism spectrum or with ADHD can influence software development.
He says that neurodiversity can increasingly be used to drive exciting innovation, for example in the fields of artificial intelligence and software development. It is important that students feel they belong within the university community, and often, small adjustments can help neurodivergent students feel more comfortable in their environment.
