UniBa esprime ferma condanna per l’attacco del 28 settembre 2026 che ha colpito a Kyiv un edificio della National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, provocando vittime, feriti e gravi danni alla struttura.
Con riferimento al conflitto in corso, UniBa ribadisce il richiamo al rispetto del diritto internazionale e del diritto internazionale umanitario, che tutela la popolazione e le strutture civili, comprese le istituzioni scientifiche, educative e culturali.
La vicinanza alla comunità scientifica ucraina si fonda anche su rapporti concreti di collaborazione. Nel maggio 2026 UniBa ha ospitato, nell’ambito del programma Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training, una delegazione di ricercatrici del Research Center for Industrial Development Problems della National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, rafforzando relazioni scientifiche e umane tra le due comunità.
UniBa esprime la propria solidarietà alle persone colpite, alle loro famiglie e all’intera comunità scientifica e accademica ucraina.
L’Ateneo ribadisce infine il valore della cooperazione scientifica internazionale come strumento di dialogo, tutela della libertà della ricerca e sostegno alle comunità accademiche che operano in condizioni di particolare difficoltà, confermando la volontà di proseguire e rafforzare la collaborazione con la National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

🇬🇧 The University of Bari Aldo Moro reiterates the prohibition of the threat or use of force in international relations and recalls the obligation of States to respect international law and international humanitarian law. It also recalls the protection afforded to civilians and civilian objects, including scientific, educational and cultural institutions.
On these grounds, the University strongly condemns the attack of 28 September 2026 that struck a building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in central Kyiv, causing casualties, injuries and serious damage. The University expresses its solidarity with the Academy and with the entire Ukrainian scientific and academic community.
This solidarity has a direct meaning for the University of Bari Aldo Moro. In May 2026, through the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training programme, the University hosted researchers from the Research Center for Industrial Development Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: Viktoria Khaustova, Iryna Hubarieva, Olha Ilyash, Tetyana Salashenko and Viktoria Shlykova. Their stay in Bari strengthened direct scientific and human ties between the two communities.
The University of Bari Aldo Moro reaffirms the value of international scientific cooperation as a means of dialogue, protection of academic freedom and support for research communities working under particularly difficult conditions, and confirms its commitment to continue and strengthen cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and its research institutions.
