Design, dialogue and collective imagination: the Faculty of Design and Art () and the Master in Eco-Social Design () welcomed designers, artists, activists, researchers and communities from across Europe to DDcon2026 at BASIS Vinschgau Venosta (.)
Under this year’s theme,” More disasters since we began a decade ago. What to do now, and how?”, the conference explored urgent questions around social-ecological transformation, collective action and the role of design in times of crisis and uncertainty.
Through keynotes, workshops, performances, walks and open spaces, participants reflected on activism, care, learning, solidarity and new ways of imagining and creating futures together. Contributions by Bianca Elzenbaumer, Lisa Baumgarten, Miriam Lang, Manuel Grebenjak, Ivan Txaparro and many others created space for dialogue across disciplines and practices.
More than a conference, DDcon26 once again became a space for collective learning and imagination shaped by conversations, shared meals, music, dancing and late-night discussions throughout the three days.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to this inspiring edition and to the growing DDcon community built over the past years!
