Il laboratorio ha instaurato negli anni molteplici relazioni internazionali, con altre istituzioni accademiche e centri di ricerca, questa rete di relazioni costituisce oggi una importante risorsa per gli scambi interculturali tra ricercatori, docenti e studenti. Mentre il lavoro di ricerca teorico del laboratorio si sviluppa spesso in un ambito internazionale, la fase di sperimentazione sul campo
è prevalentemente concentrata localmente sul territorio calabrese. La regione in cui si trova il campus, e da cui provengono anche la maggior parte degli studenti iscritti all’Università della Calabria, è il infatti un campo di azione ideale per la sperimentazione didattica ed il luogo adatto al confronto con le realtà locali. I livelli di insegnamento su cui sono attivi i docenti dell’Urban Design Lab vanno dalla Bachelor Degree al Master Degree e Master, i docenti sono inoltre parte del collegio dei docenti del PhD. Le attività su cui si concentra il lavoro del Laboratorio possono essere suddivise in tre gruppi:

The UD•LAB has established, over the years, international relationships with other academic institutions and research centers. This network of relationships is an important resource for intercultural exchanges between researchers, teachers and students. While the UD•LAB theoretical research often grows in an international context, the experimentation phase in the field is mainly concentrated at local level in Calabria. The faculties of the UD•LAB offer different levels of education ranging from Bachelor Degree to Master Degree, II level Master and PhD. The activities, which are the focus of the UD•LAB's work, can be divided into three groups: research / field testing / teaching.
