The International Centre for Studies and Research “Mediterranean Knowledge” (ICSR The International Centre for Studies and Research “Mediterranean Knowledge” (ICSR MK), has been established in 2015 with the aim of integrating research groups and other international, national and local institutes engaged in analysis and research on the Mediterranean basin. The target is contributing to the research

about the Mediterranean and building tools of knowledge for planning and managing actions able to produce a positive impact on the relations between the peoples living on the Mediterranean shores and to favor a better mutual understanding. The ICSR MK is based at the University of Salerno and is composed of fourteen Research Units from the countries of the Mediterranean Basin. The ICSR MK regularly organizes seminars, conferences and other initiatives.; publishes three research products: the Journal of Mediterranean Knowledge (ISSN 2499-930X), the book series Mediterranean, Knowledge, Culture and Heritage, a series of Working Papers.

The Journal of Mediterranean Knowledge has been recognized by the Anvur (Italian agency for the evaluation of scientific research) as a scientific journal for the sector 10 (Hispanic-American Studies).

The Anvur has also confirmed the recognition as a scientific journal for the sectors 11 (History) and 14 (Sociology), achieved since 2018.
