On 22nd November, the Tampere team conducted in-service training for teachers on teaching critical online reading in primary education. Pirjo Kulju and Riikka Anttonen showed the participants the videos produced in the project. The videos were used as prompts to discuss ideas and experiences of teaching critical reading. Pirjo and Riikka also presented concrete teaching materials that teachers can use in their teaching. In the next phase, the teachers will carry out a small teaching experiment, the results of which will be discussed together.

The Unifi team has been implementing a game-based intervention in two schools in Tuscany, Italy.
350 children aged 10-11 years old have been trained in groups of 20 children in schools' settings. The game-based intervention involves a web-based App called “Elli’s world”. It embeds exercises on cognitive control processes called Executive Functions (EF) and Media Literacy activities, displayed as challenges faced by “Ello”, an avatar resembling the brain. The training, which will last six weeks, works on: , , , and cross-textualintegration. Both teachers and children have positively accepted the game.
