Hello there! I'm Beatrice, and behind me is beautiful .

I am an Atlantis student from and now I'm studying at . So far the Atlantis program has overachieved my expectations. Last year when COVID-19 hit we were in Sweden and had to leave the country halfway through the semester. I was really worried about pretty much everything, but all turned out well: we graduated from LIU online and then I was able to come to the U.S.

Life here is VERY different from Europe: I remember the first thing I noticed when I arrived in Chicago was "everything is so much bigger!" cars, shampoo bottles, burgers... everything! And then I also realized how open to strangers Americans are: if you need anything, you will find someone who can help you, just ask!

The courses at DePaul are very interesting and the instructors are extremely competent and helpful. The workload is bigger than at the previous universities, but with organization and diligence you can excel. For now I have only had online classes, and what surprised me the most is how the whole school went online: not only the courses, but also the student organizations, meet-ups, trivia nights, ceremonies, competitions... this really helped me meet new friends both international and local. I also got an on-campus job at the school's ID Lab, which gives me professional experience with large companies while studying.

I am truly in love with Chicago: meters of snow in winter and hot summers at the beach, there is everything, and you cannot get bored. Like all big cities, it can get really expensive really fast, but there are a lot of good deals that will allow you to live a good life and travel around.

Hey, I’m Michael Schaffner, an INSEEC Atlantis Student currently at LIU. My experience so far in Sweden has been positive even with COVID. Sweden has amazing sceneries from frozen lakes and northern lights to large forests and abundant wildlife, but also a never-ending winter. I encourage students to not only visit the “big cities” like Stockholm, Malmö, and Göteborg, but also to rent car and explore. You can find cheap Airbnb houses for a big group.

The culture is much different in Sweden, people are very polite, introverted, and usually speak amazing English (even older generations). I would say that I have struggled with the conflict of the avoiding nature of Swedes as I am usually quite straightforward, but it is nevertheless a great skill to have in learning to adapt to one’s culture and trying to understand the implicit cues, habits and « way to see things. » As consequence, international students have to go towards them, which is quite counter intuitive to me at least. Having Swedish roommates (corridor with your own room + shower) that you can get to know on a deeper personal level will help you blend in. Once you make the effort to start a conversation and open up they will do the same, and you will build relationships with interesting people as a result.

Regarding classes, they were online, but the campus was open, meaning you could grab a coffee and study at the library. The campus is really awesome, and different to what you will find in France. The courses are interesting and you only have one class at a time, a lot of freedom is given to you, so it is up to you to have your own schedule and discipline.INSEEC

Our Story

The Atlantis Transatlantic Dual-Degree Program, founded in 2007 with more than 200 alumni to-date, provides students an opportunity to live and study in France, Sweden and the U.S. in order to obtain an undergraduate and graduate degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) in four years. Students spend their third year at INSEEC in Lyon, France and Linköping University in Sweden. Upon successful completion of those studies in Europe, they earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Business Administration from Linköping University. The student’s fourth year is spent in the U.S. at either Western Illinois University (Macomb, Illinois) where they obtain a second bachelor’s degree or an MBA degree; or at DePaul University (Chicago, Illinois) where they obtain an MSc in Information Systems.

This program strengthens graduates' professional resumes by showcasing their academic achievements, exposing them to European, and American commerce and culture, and creating alumni networks in France, Sweden, and the US.
