InFlorence Academy - Italian Language School Welcome to the official page for InFlorence Academy/ Eurocentres Florence - Italian Languag The first Italian Language course was in June 9th, 1958.

Since 1957 Eurocentres Firenze, the first state-recognized school of foreign languages in Florence, is located in Palazzo Guadagni, a Renaissance palace dating from 1502 which is in the middle of the old town centre near the Ponte Vecchio.

Sometimes, a simple reaction is enough to show that you’re listening, keep the conversation going, or give yourself a few extra seconds to think about what to say next.

Then you arrive in Italy… and suddenly Italians seem to use it for everything.
Ma dai! Ma no. Ma certo! Ma figurati.
The word may stay the same, but tone, context and intention can completely change what it communicates.
That’s one of the things that makes spoken Italian so interesting: sometimes understanding the vocabulary isn’t enough. You also have to understand how Italians actually use it.
So next time you hear ma, don’t translate it immediately.
