The SSBAP provides knowledge, skills and abilities to perform and control the main non-destructive analysis and diagnosis techniques on the built heritage (particularly on the pre-industrial heritage), with specific attention for:
- Documentary and archival researches;
- Architectural and metrical survey;
- Chemical, physical, technical, mechanical, mineralogical and petrographic characterization
of building materials;
- Analysis of the spatial and morphological characters of architectural artifacts;
- Analysis of the constructive techniques;
- Non-destructive analysis and diagnosis of decay phenomena, structural assessment of the construction and evaluation of the environmental conditions of the historical artifacts;
- Thermal behaviour of the buildings and resources/energy saving. The Specialist of Architectural Heritage and Landscape will be able to:
- Implement and coordinate interventions on the built heritage;
- Prepare preliminary, final and executive restoration projects;
- Manage the whole restoration process, from the design phase to the construction site, including the testing and monitoring phase;
- Plan and manage the final restored built heritage, identifying the new function and defining a scheduled and preventive maintenance program.
