❗️BACK AGAIN WITH SOME NEWS! AWRANA CONFERENCE 2022❗️

It's been a long time since our last post.
Now, we're ready to share with you some exciting news about last month ✨
From April 4th to April 7th, out team attended the Conference "Tracing Social Dynamics" at Science Museum in Barcelona, Spain. We presented a part of Alice Vassanelli 's research about the use of beads in during Copper Age, focusing on with an experimental and multi-disciplinary approach to the material we studied.

Alice Vassanelli made an online oral report, while three other collegues presented a poster during the dedicated session.

It was a great experience that allowed us to know many researchers from all over the world with different types of interests and studies, and gave us a wider look on the archaeological scene we're working in.

💥 MESOLITHIC-NEOLITHIC TRANSITION SEMINAR 💥

On 29th and 30th of March 2022, another great initiative was organized!

A Mesolithic-Neolithic Transition seminar, organized in collaboration with a team of Spanish and Italian fellow archaeologists collegues, took place at the Escuela Española de Historia y Arqueologia of the CSIC in Rome.

It was a great opportunity to acquire an exhaustive view on the European Transition from the to the era, analyzing different aspects of the Mediterranean area.
From Eastern Iberian Peninsula to North Africa, the lecturers displayed a very interesting map of this even more interesting subject.

Here you can see the event's poster!

🏺A TRIP TO ALBA FUCENS 🏺

Last year, Rio Tana's crew spent a wonderful sunny day visiting the Roman site of Alba Fucens, in Abruzzo, north-west to the ancient Lake Fucino🌞.

Located in a small valley and surrounded by three hills, its establishment took place in 303 BC and it soon became a centre of great importance for many centuries, until the V-VI AD, when its decline began.

The site is very suggestive, and the visit made us go back in time ⏳. It felt as if we were walking on the streets of an active Roman city, thanks to the well preservation of the archaeological site.

We can't wait to go back and see this wonder again! ❤️

⛏ More activities organized in Rio Tana ⛏

Every year we organize educational workshops for children to make them understand the importance an the fun of archaeology 🤩

Families always participate with enthusiasm and this help us to keep a strong relationship with the local community. 👥❣️

Last year we hid some bones 🦴in soil for children to find, and then we taught them how to prepare a little vessel with clay🏺

In 2022 campaign too we will make an effort to keep up with these activities.
