The International Master of Science in Sustainable Agriculture of the University of Padua aims to provide advanced knowledge in the field of agricultural systems as well as skills to develop and manage sustainable production systems.

Field trip day! 🚌🌱 What a fantastic visits to Zero Farms in Capriolo and Menin Floricoltura in Carceri within the course of “Sustainable Agriculture: Perspectives from Abroad”!

Students explored vertical farming technology as well as plant nursery and growing of Phalaenipsis orchids in depth, gaining a clear view of how these sophisticated, controlled environments function at a commercial scale.

A special thank you to out visiting professor Rhuanito Ferrarezi for his invaluable contribution to the course this semester and for helping guide this experience. His insights greatly enriched the students’ understanding and engagement throughout.
The group came away with deeper knowledge, fresh perspectives, and plenty of inspiration. It’s always rewarding to see the next generation of agricultural innovators connect classroom learning with real-world, cutting-edge solutions. 💡🌿

🌍 Sustainable Agriculture at the World Food Forum!

Our student delegation had the privilege of attending the organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on the occasion of its 80th anniversary. 🎉

The event brought together young innovators, researchers, policymakers, and global leaders to discuss sustainable solutions for transforming agri-food systems. It was an inspiring space that celebrated youth engagement, innovation, and collaboration for a more sustainable and food-secure world. 🌱✨

Our studentsay that one of the most valuable aspects was connecting with experts and peers from around the globe, exchanging ideas on climate challenges, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition.

Overall, the WFF was a truly enriching experience — it deepened the understanding of global food system challenges and motivated students to take action toward building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future. 💚🌾

Newly enrolled students from the Sustainable Agriculture and programs visited the .agrarial.toniolo__unipd and the Paolo Baretta farm to explore innovative intercropping systems combining soybean and buckwheat.

Why this combo?🥈✌️
To measure the ecosystem services these systems provide — from pollination to natural pest and w**d control 🐝🌿

👨‍🏫 Professors and with post-doc shared insights, including how these practices help suppress pests like the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) and two-spotted mite (Tetranycus urticae).

We’re excited to see the results of the second year of experimentation form the ECODRESS project...keep us updated! 📈
