🛰️ Epsilon Italia took part in the Working Group on Skills and Talents in the Space Economy, organised by The European House – Ambrosetti / TEHA Group within the framework of the ESA Skills Digital Twin Initiative.
This was an important opportunity to contribute to the ongoing reflections on the skills needs in the European space ecosystem.
The session brought together high-level experts and stakeholders, with the participation of ESA, the academic world, competence centres and international organisations committed to developing the skills of the future. The discussion covered several points, including the emerging skill needs and the technological trends shaping the European space economy.
🎯 Epsilon Italia represented SPACE4GEO, the Large Scale Partnership on Space Data, Services & Applications, and its flagship project SpaceSUITE, in which we are actively involved as a partner.
During the meeting, we highlighted the role of SPACE4GEO in strengthening skill intelligence, capacity building and talent attraction across the space and geoinformation domain. We also presented the SpaceSUITE project, sharing its aims, approach and first results, including an updated version of the Sector Skills Strategy for the space downstream sector and the methodology followed to design, develop and deliver innovative training resources.
We also shared insights from DIS4SME, a project in which Epsilon Italia participated alongside several SPACE4GEO partners, including the coordinator of the Large Scale Partnership: GISIG. The project delivered 10 short courses on location data interoperability, designed to upskill/reskill European SMEs, and introduced a certification pathway aligned with the EU micro-credentials framework.
🔭 We are proud to contribute to this European dialogue, bringing the expertise gained through SPACE4GEO, SpaceSUITE and DIS4SME to support the shared mission of reducing the skills gap and enabling a competitive, inclusive and resilient European space economy.
