Buongiorno a tutti!
Stiamo raccogliendo volontari per un esperimento sul linguaggio con la risonanza magnetica, metodica del tutto non-invasiva che non si avvale di radiazioni ionizzanti.

La sessione di risonanza si svolge presso il San Raffaele di Milano (Via Olgettina 58/60) e dura circa 45m.
Oltre alla sessione di risonanza, i partecipanti svolgeranno (fuori dalla risonanza) test cognitivi per circa 45 minuti.

Per partecipare occorre soddisfare i seguenti requisiti:
A. Essere destrimani (né mancini né ambidestri)
B. Essere vedenti (o ipovedenti ma muniti di lenti a contatto)
C. Essere sprovvisti di impianti metallici (es. viti per fratture ossee, pacemaker) e tatuaggi recenti (

Hello there!
We're delighted to share the news that our latest paper titled "The bilingual structural connectome: Dual-language experiential factors modulate distinct cerebral networks" has been accepted for publication in Brain & Language.
In this study, we used probabilistic tractography, Network Based Statistics, and graph theory to investigate how individual differences in L2 Exposure, Proficiency, and Age of Acquisition - measured as continuous between-subject variables - relate to whole-brain structural organization.

Stiamo raccogliendo volontari per uno studio comportamentale su come prendiamo decisioni in condizioni difficili o rischiose.
La sessione si svolge presso il San Raffaele di Milano (Via Olgettina 58/60) e dura dai 30 ai 45 minuti circa.
Per partecipare occorre soddisfare i seguenti requisiti:
A. Avere un'età compresa tra 18-35 anni
B. Avere una conoscenza, anche minima, della lingua Inglese

L'esperimento si svolgerà in estrema sicurezza secondo le vigenti norme anti-COVID.

New paper out!
A concise opinion piece, titled "Thinking outside the box: The brain-bilingualism relationship in the light of early neurobiological variability", has been accepted for publication in Brain and Language.
Past anatomical neuroimaging research has mainly focused on how bilingualism influences brain structure, and how eventually the brain accommodates a second language. In this paper, we discuss a recent contribution to the field which views bilingualism as
lens to understand brain-behaviour mappings from a different perspective.

New paper out!

Our latest effort (it’s appropriate to say it!), titled "Bilingual language processing: A meta-analysis of functional neuroimaging studies", has been accepted for publication in Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews.

How does the bilingual brain process lexico-semantic, grammar and phonological knowledge in the first and second language? To what extent do similarities and differences in the processing of L1 and L2 depend on the linguistic level considered?

To answer these questions, we performed a comprehensive meta-analysis on neuroimaging data with the aim to both highlight L1-L2 similarities and differences for each linguistic level and disclose potential commonalities across levels.

Overall, we systematized the available (whole-brain) neuroimaging evidence on the cerebral organization of bilingual language processing, identifying under-investigated issues and indicating directions for future research.

We're delighted to share the news that our latest paper titled "Bilingualism as a gradient measure modulates functional connectivity of language and control networks" has been accepted for publication in NeuroImage.

The study measures bilingualism as a multi-componential construct of gradient and interacting variables and tests its effects on the resting-state functional connectivity of the brain.
