Sustainable aviation is one of today’s hottest topics — both for its environmental impact and for its growing connection to the global geopolitical scenario.
At the MSM – Master in Sustainability Management, students explored the transformations reshaping the aviation industry through the Sustainable Aviation Workshop, discussing how efficiency and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) can accelerate the transition toward a more sustainable aerospace ecosystem while supporting competitiveness, performance and security across both civil and military aviation.
The urgency of this transition becomes even clearer when looking at the numbers: in 2018, 50% of aviation emissions were generated by just 1% of the world’s population, while around 80% of people worldwide have never flown. A powerful reminder of why rethinking the future of aviation is an environmental priority and a strategic and societal one.
From aviation sector strategies to new business models, from airport sustainability initiatives to the future of SAFs, the workshop brought together industry leaders, academics and institutional experts for a full day of insights, perspectives and real-world applications with professionals from Boeing, ADR, Cranfield University and the Italian Air Force.
Because management with purpose means preparing future leaders to navigate complexity, connect sustainability with strategy, and drive transformation where it matters most.
