Styling is never just about “choosing outfits”.

It is about research, storytelling, creative direction and making every element of an image work towards the same vision.

A closer look at the work of the Styling students involved in the Brand Project with Giuliano Fujiwara, developing and producing a series of editorial stories through a contemporary lens.

The journey started with the archive, reinterpreting Giuliano Fujiwara’s visual language through new editorial narratives.

Now, the students are shaping the visual story of the capsule collection being developed by the Fashion Design students as part of the same project — set to be presented during Milan Fashion Week this September.

Fashion through the art of Ikebana — the ancient Japanese practice of flower arrangement.

Born as a ritual practice and developed over time into an aesthetic and philosophical discipline, Ikebana does not seek abundance or symmetry.

Instead, it is built around balance, subtraction and harmony. Every element is intentional, while even empty space becomes an active part of the composition.

These principles became the starting point for a new chapter of the Accademia del Lusso x Giuliano Fujiwara collaboration, reinterpreting the Italian-Japanese brand’s identity through a contemporary lens.

The result is a capsule collection where balance, restraint and imperfection become part of the design language — reflecting an approach rooted in minimalism, harmony and respect for materials.

This September, the collection will make its debut during Milan Fashion Week!

Every great collection starts long before the first cut of fabric.

Students began by studying Giuliano Fujiwara’s archive in depth - analysing his patterns, proportions, and construction techniques to fully understand the brand’s language.
After the research phase comes paper pattern-making, the technical blueprint that translates every idea into a wearable form. It’s here that proportions, volumes, and construction details are defined, laying the foundation of every garment that will come to life.

Learning by doing — to build a real career in the fashion industry

Since its launch in 2024, the Brand Project has given Accademia del Lusso talents the opportunity to collaborate with established fashion brands, developing creative, strategic and technical skills.

It’s much more than an academic exercise:
It’s personal growth and hands-on experience.
It’s teamwork, with students learning from and supporting one another.
It’s the opportunity to meet industry professionals and work with them

It’s about building the foundations for a future career in fashion.

And this year, that experience takes our students all the way to Milan Fashion Week.

Following the exhibition dedicated to Giuliano Fujiwara, this year students have have once again collaborated with the brand, bringing to life a series of editorial photoshoots featuring archive pieces and a contemporary capsule collection, which will be presented during Milan Fashion Week this September!

There’s something different about the Academy when the students are away🥲

The hallways seem quieter: there are no students walking through them, no one creating, drawing, or crafting in the workshops, no one eating together in the cafeteria or gossiping in the courtyard. The days seem to pass a little more slowly, and every space seems to be missing something.

Because an Academy isn’t just made up of classrooms, labs, and projects: it’s made up of the people who bring it to life.

A new chapter in our collaboration with Giuliano Fujiwara.
Following last year’s exhibition dedicated to the Italian-Japanese designer, Accademia del Lusso students have reimagined the brand’s identity through a series of editorial photoshoots and a contemporary collection that will be presented at Milan Fashion Week this September.
Launched in 2004, the Brand Project is an educational initiative that empowers students to redefine the identity, strategy, and management of three heritage fashion brands: No Limits, Giuliano Fujiwara and Romeo Gigli.

Studying abroad can feel scary before it becomes unforgettable. 🇮🇹✨

For our Summer Course students, living and studying in Milan has meant challenging themselves, exploring new creative disciplines and discovering how much work, vision and experimentation lie behind the fashion industry.

But it has also meant experiencing the city firsthand, recognising trends on its streets, meeting people from around the world and building new friendships along the way. 🌍

From creative concepts to product development, every lesson offers a new perspective — even for those approaching some of these subjects for the first time.

What are your plans for the summer? Studying fashion and design in Italy, of course! 🇮🇹✨

Students from the United States, Brazil and Peru have joined Accademia del Lusso’s Summer Course in Milan to experience Italian fashion and design culture firsthand. 🌍

Through Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Product Design, they can experiment with different creative disciplines, develop new skills and discover interests they may never have explored before.

Different perspectives come together, creativity moves beyond familiar boundaries, and the classroom becomes an international space for sharing ideas, cultures and experiences.

Because studying abroad is not only about what you learn. It is also about the people you meet, the connections you build and the new possibilities you begin to imagine.
