ISOLA is a collection of induction hobs designed by Stefano Boeri Interiors for Smeg Italia, available with an integrated extractor hood or in a flat version, designed to be paired with a suspended hood system. The latter, beyond its extraction function, can transform into a luminous element thanks to adjustable-intensity LED inserts, creating a system where technology, light and functionality come together.

Isola, a project by Stefano Boeri Interiors for Smeg, is a collection of induction hobs, with and without an integrated hood, and a high-tech suspended hood system, with a revolutionary, elegant and luminous design. The hob-integrated hoods are also characterised by innovative functionality. The extraction can remain active even after the hob is switched off. Attention to detail is also evident in the finishes of the hob frame and integrated hood grille, which can be customised in black, taupe or satin stainless steel.

ISOLA is a collection of induction hobs, with and without an integrated hood, and a high-tech suspended hood system, with a revolutionary, elegant and luminous design. Stefano Boeri Interiors is inspired by Smeg Italia classics to create soft and unique lines, giving shape to a product with a recognisable character and adaptable to every environment. Thanks to the lighting that defines the perimeter of the hob, the glass surface emerges as the protagonist, differentiating itself from induction hobs on the market.

“Floating Forest is a green graft in the heart of Milan, an ecosystem developed from the selection of plants, able to increase biodiversity and multiply the environmental benefits of urban forestry, in connection with the natural system of the city.” Stefano Boeri

Floating Forest was conceived as a floating ecosystem designed to explore new possibilities for urban forestry and demonstrate how nature can return to occupy water surfaces, contributing to making cities more resilient, liveable, and capable of responding to contemporary climate challenges. Floating Forest proposed a replicable model of green space to reintroduce nature into urban environments, transforming water and public space into a landscape of coexistence between people and the environment.

Conceived as a prototype for a possible solution to reduce the progressive mineralisation of cities and to inhabit their water spaces, reimagined the relationship between people and nature by transforming an urban environment into a place for biodiversity, encounter, and social interaction.
Created for Milan Design Week 2022, the installation functioned as an autonomous ecosystem composed of 610 plants from 30 different species, generating the environmental benefits of urban forestry while simultaneously enhancing biodiversity. Floating Forest demonstrated how nature can be reintroduced into the open spaces of cities through a replicable model of urban reforestation, transforming mineralised environments into healthier, more resilient public spaces capable of mitigating the urban heat island effect, improving microclimatic comfort, and responding to increasingly frequent and intense heat waves.

Santa Chiara Arena is the new open-air auditorium designed by Stefano Boeri Interiors for the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano. The project is rooted in the enhancement of the site’s historical remains: the ancient foundations become an integral part of the new space, shaping its architectural identity while establishing an ongoing dialogue between memory and contemporaneity. Conceived as a flexible cultural venue, the Arena will host performances, concerts, public talks and cultural events, offering the city a new place for culture, community and collective life.

The regeneration of the Santa Chiara Convent envisions the historic complex as an integrated system of architecture, open spaces, and landscape, with the aim of restoring it to the city as a place where historical heritage and new civic functions coexist. The project includes the restoration of the existing buildings, which will accommodate student housing, together with the construction of a new residential Social Rehabilitation Centre “Dopo di Noi“. As part of this broader regeneration strategy, construction of the Santa Chiara Arena officially begins today with the groundbreaking ceremony. Conceived as a new open-air auditorium for the cultural programme and events of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano , the project stems from a careful interpretation and enhancement of the late sixteenth-century archaeological remains uncovered on the site. These historic foundations become the generative core of the architectural design, forming an integral part of the new arena. The dialogue between the site’s historical traces and the contemporary architectural intervention creates a new public space dedicated to performances, concerts, public gatherings, and cultural events, establishing a vibrant civic destination for the social and cultural life of the city.

As part of the redevelopment of the Colosseum’s southern ambulatory, an open archaeological excavation area has been preserved between arches 65 and 71. This design choice allows visitors to appreciate the archaeological remains uncovered during the most recent excavation campaigns, which clearly illustrate some of the construction techniques employed in the building of the Colosseum. The area is enclosed on its three outer sides by double-glazed laminated glass balustrades, ensuring the safety of the site while providing visitors with unobstructed views of the archaeological remains.

Between October 2022 and June 2023, archaeological investigations uncovered the two corridors (first and second ambulacrum) along the southern front of the Colosseum, which had collapsed between the 6th–7th centuries due to earthquakes and subsequent demolitions over time. This was followed by the redevelopment project by Stefano Boeri Interiors, extending into the adjacent “Piazza” area, integrating excavation and architectural intervention. In less than four years overall, a new section of the Parco archeologico Colosseo has been returned to public access, expanding visitor routes and restoring the legibility of the monument’s original geometry.
