Change happens. Transition takes time.

A new strategy can be announced in a meeting.
A reorganization can become effective on Monday.
A new leader can arrive overnight.

But people don’t change at the same speed as an organizational chart.
William Bridges’ Transition Model makes an important distinction: change is what happens around us, transition is what happens within us.

And every transition moves through three phases: letting go of what was, crossing the uncertain space where the old no longer works and the new is not yet clear, and eventually finding a new beginning.

For organizations, this means making room for something we often try to accelerate: the in-between.

Transformation happens while people are learning how to inhabit what comes next.

September has a strange way of making us feel that we should simply pick up where we left off. Open the calendar. Restart the projects. Return to the conversations waiting for us.

Migratory birds know something about returning that we often forget: returning means moving towards the conditions that will allow them to continue.

Maybe September could be less about restarting and more about finding our direction again.

In the new issue of Bloom, we explore what happens in the space between leaving and returning, what transitions ask of people and organisations, and why a little distance can change the way we see what was there all along.

The new Bloom is out now.

What if becoming more agile meant learning when to pause?

In organizations, we often confuse agility with speed: responding faster, deciding faster, adapting faster. But moving fast doesn’t necessarily mean moving well.

Agility requires presence: the ability to notice what is happening, stay with uncertainty, learn from mistakes, and choose a direction even when we don’t have all the answers yet.

In our new Wyde World article, we explore Personal and Collective Agility and five practices to help teams develop it.

Meet Morag, part of Wyde’s international Faculty.

Curiosity, kindness and carefully crafted conversations are at the heart of her work helping people see with new eyes, embrace paradox and turn awareness into action.

Morag has been with us since the very beginning of the Wyde adventure, and we’re happy to tell you a little more about her.

August was a month of movement, learning and unexpected training spaces. We brought our work across Europe and beyond, moving through very different landscapes: from Copenhagen to Azenhas do Mar, from the rice terraces of Tegallalang in Bali to the Corsican coast, from Marseille to Lake Sils, and on to Rocca Calascio, Geirangerfjord and the Camino de Santiago.

Different places, perspectives and ways of being together, reminding us that learning can happen anywhere and that sometimes changing the landscape changes the way we look at things.

We were taught to hurry.
To respond immediately.
To learn faster.
To never stop.

Then summer arrives and, almost without noticing, we discover another possibility: letting some things unfold in their own time. Our latest newsletter is an invitation to rediscover a different pace, the one that allows real change to happen.

Nine years. Nine questions.

For our ninth birthday, we chose not to talk about ourselves. We chose to ask.

These are the questions we keep encountering in workshops, in leadership conversations, in organisational life. The ones that rarely have simple answers, yet deserve to be explored.

We invited members of our international Faculty to give voice to them, each in their own language. German. Spanish. Hindi. Japanese. Portuguese. Russian. Italian. English. French. The same questions, spoken through different cultures, perspectives and rhythms.

Because the future of work is never built in a single language. And neither is Wyde.

Thank you to everyone who lent us not just your voice, but your accent, your cadence, your way of holding a question open. That, too, is collaboration.

After nine years, we still believe that organisations grow by learning to ask better questions. Together.

Happy Wydeday!

Nine years already.

Wyde was founded nine years ago on a belief that continues to shape every journey we design: organizations truly change when people discover new ways of connecting. That is why we chose to describe Wyde as a connective school. It is a phrase that has stood the test of time because we know that every meaningful transformation begins with a relationship. It was true nine years ago, and it is just as true today.

Organizations invest in strategies, processes, and capabilities. Yet what makes change possible exists in the space between people. That is where trust grows, where people find the courage to speak up, where conflict becomes an opportunity for learning and where collective growth begins.

For the past nine years, we have chosen to cultivate that space.

To us, connection is a discipline built on deep listening, meaningful conversations, questions that open new perspectives, and relationships that enable people to grow together. From the quality of those relationships emerge workplaces where energy flows, talent can flourish, and people are able to contribute at their best over time.

Let the celebrations begin. Nine years of learning. Nine years of connection.
