INGRID PAOLETTI is a Full Professor of Architectural Technology at Politecnico di Milano and the Director of the I and II level Master "Material Balance Design: Digital Techniques and Circular Innovations in Architecture". She founded the Material Balance research group, leading the way in innovative technologies and materials for a new, responsible material culture. Since 2023, she also is Rector's Delegate for Exhibitions and Events.

📚 Meet Our Master's Professor, 𝙄𝙣𝙜. 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙤 𝙋𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙪!

Graduated in 2009 from Politecnico di Milano in Building Engineering-Architecture, he completed his European PhD in Building Systems at Politecnico di Milano with honors in 2013 with the thesis "Carbon efficient constructions: Life cycle-based method for the evaluation of the carbon footprint of wood buildings". After an exchange period at Aalto University, Forest Products Department, as Visiting Researcher for the participation in the European Project "€CO2 - Wood in carbon efficient construction", he spent three years as Post-doc Researcher at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Architecture Built environment Construction engineering (ABC). In 2016, he was Visiting Professor at the University of Saint Joseph in Macau for the courses "Construction Technologies Fundamentals" and "Sustainable Building Design". In 2017 he took the position of Research Associate at ETH Zürich, Chair of Sustainable Construction, becoming coordinator of the Swiss National Research Project (SNF) NRP70 - Low Energy Concrete. In the same year, he became Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano for the course Fundamentals of Construction Design.

From September 2020 he is Assistant Professor in Building Production and Management at Politecnico di Milano, Department ABC.

His research is focused on the identification and development of solutions and strategies for a rapid decarbonization of the construction sector. Particular interest is placed in the development and implementation of biobased materials for the promotion of climate-regenerative solutions, both for new construction and retrofit, as well as developing and applying advanced LCA and MFA methodologies.

📚 Meet Our Master's Professor, 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙝. 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗼!

Giorgio Castellano , M.Arch, BA Art History, after working for Sou Fujimoto Architects, Tokyo; Studio Fuksas, Rome; MAD Architects, Beijing, as design architect, founded in Milan.

Currently part of the Material Balance research group as PhD candidate in Architectural Technology at the ABC Department at Politecnico di Milano.

📚 Meet Our Master's Professor, 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙝. 𝙋𝙖𝙤𝙡𝙤 𝙈𝙖𝙯𝙯𝙖! 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce Paolo Mazza, an accomplished architect and partner at the renowned Milan-based architecture and interior design firm 𝗔𝗖𝗣𝗩 𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗹. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Department of Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
Prof. Mazza graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1998 and began his journey with ACPV the same year, becoming a partner in 2017. He has led design teams on some of the firm's most significant projects, including:
🔹 The adaptive reuse of the former De Sonnaz barracks for the new Turin headquarters of Reply
🔹 Interior designs for hospitality projects in the Middle East
🔹 Interior designs for Enel's Rome headquarters
🔹 Premium passenger lounges at Doha International Airport
🔹 The new post-office concept for Poste Italiane

Additionally, Arch. Mazza heads ACPVLab, the firm's innovative R&D department, which utilizes a data-driven approach to revolutionize the design of the built environment. ACPV operates globally, developing complex and large-scale projects in synergy with a network of qualified specialists.
