Bocconi Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies Association (BBCA) is a student association at Bocconi, and its main aim is to create a platform for collaboration among students interested in the world of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies are the first and the far most known examples of usable and working Blockchain technologies. Young intellectuals are the best suited for exploring new pa

radigms and critically looking at existing institutions to find room for practical improvement. Currently businesses, banks, and large organizations are already exploring these technologies to see how they can implement them in their sectors. By creating a platform on campus to discuss these topics, the BBCA supports the academic pursuits of students investigating this technology.

April marked a partial recovery for digital assets, with Bitcoin and Ethereum posting gains as geopolitical risk eased and institutional flows improved. At the same time, macro conditions remained dominant: oil-driven inflation, a divided Fed, and uncertainty around future policy kept crypto tied closely to broader risk sentiment. In DeFi, token launches and infrastructure progress were overshadowed by major exploit activity and renewed concerns around cross-chain security.

March 2026 highlighted a growing disconnect between improving crypto fundamentals and macro-driven price action.

As oil shocks reshaped Fed expectations and reduced the outlook for rate cuts, crypto markets remained range-bound despite strong on-chain accumulation, institutional activity, and accelerating regulatory integration of stablecoins into financial infrastructure. This report breaks down the Fed’s policy shift, the widening gold–crypto divergence, market stabilization across major assets, and key DeFi trends including rollup expansion, RWA growth, evolving token incentives, and major protocol developments.

It was a pleasure to take part in Paris Blockchain Week 2026. Having the opportunity to hear the goals, views and ambitions of the sector’s leading companies is a rare occasion. The central theme, which was discussed at greatest length, is undoubtedly the convergence between traditional finance and the crypto ecosystem: two elements that already coexist but are destined to complement one another and share their features.
Taking part, therefore, not only helps us better understand the direction in which the fintech and blockchain world is heading, but also allows us to enhance our outreach efforts here at Bocconi Students Blockchain Association. A special thank you to Blockchain Student Association Italy and European Students Blockchain Coalition for enabling us to participate and making all of this possible. See you next time!

🆕 Our new article “Digital Assets and State Power: A New Monetary Architecture” is out now!

📌 We explore how governments and institutions are integrating digital assets, with a focus on stablecoins, regulatory shifts, and the growing competition between the US, Europe, and China. How is this reshaping the global monetary system, and what role will Europe play?

February 2026 marked a regime shift for crypto markets.

Within eight days, a Supreme Court tariff ruling and the Strait of Hormuz shutdown compressed macro uncertainty into a single month, driving oil, gold, and risk assets into violent repricing.
This edition examines Bitcoin’s corrective movement, rising equity correlation, institutional rotation into gold, evolving stablecoin regulation across the U.S., EU and Hong Kong, and key DeFi developments including Robinhood Chain, Jupiter’s emissions vote, and major protocol exploits.
