🎓 Due nuove lauree magistrali, due percorsi che raccontano come ricerca, tecnologia e multidisciplinarità possano incontrarsi per affrontare problemi complessi.

Il 23 luglio abbiamo festeggiato la laurea di:
🔹 Matteo Giannetto
“OsteoGraph: A Multi-Agent Tool Orchestration Framework for Quantitative Bone Microstructure”

🔹 Francesco Mario Inzerillo
“BioGraph: A Network Approach to Multi-Omics Information Retrieval”

📣 LEONARDO and the Academic World

LEONARDO bridges research and education, creating a dynamic environment in which the two continuously reinforce one another. By engaging in real-world research activities, students learn how to develop their own projects, write scientific papers, review the work of others, and understand the peer-review process.

The project offers hands-on experiences that reflect possible future career paths, whether in academia, industry, or entrepreneurship. From participating in international conferences to receiving support in developing a startup, each student is guided according to their interests, ambitions, and personal aspirations.

A meaningful example is the NECST Group Conference (NGC), created to give students the opportunity to experience an international scientific conference firsthand. By attending talks, meeting researchers, and comparing their work with the existing body of knowledge, students gain a deeper understanding of research and academic networking.

The NECST Group Conference Junior (NGC Junior) extends this opportunity to LEONARDO students by enabling them to attend an international conference hosted in Italy. In 2027 will join IEEE RTSI in Sicily.

Ultimately, LEONARDO aims to give students the awareness and freedom they need to make informed decisions about their future. It helps them recognize their strengths and areas for improvement, step outside their comfort zones, and learn how to collaborate effectively.

Through personal growth, teamwork, and mutual respect, LEONARDO prepares students not for one predefined career path, but to shape the one that is right for them.

Education does not end when the lecture is over.

At NECSTLab, we believe that one of the most important moments in a student's learning journey is when they leave the comfort of the classroom and present their work to an audience that is genuinely interested, curious, and willing to challenge their ideas.

This is why we created LIRE: the LEONARDO Innovation and Research Event.

📍 Trifoglio Glass Room, Building 13 – Politecnico di Milano
📅 Friday, July 24, 2026

LIRE is not an exam.
It is not a conference.
It is a learning experience.

Throughout the year, students in LEONARDO "The Multimagineering Project" work alongside researchers on ambitious projects, learning not only how to conduct research, but also how to communicate it, defend it, and understand its potential impact.

On July 24, they will present their work to an audience of researchers, companies, alumni, innovators, and students.

Because explaining your research to someone outside your immediate field is one of the most valuable educational experiences you can have.

Receiving unexpected questions helps you see your work from new perspectives.

Discussing ideas with industry professionals teaches you to think beyond technical excellence.

Listening to feedback develops critical thinking, resilience, and communication skills.

These are competencies that cannot be fully developed through lectures alone.

They grow through authentic interactions with a community that is willing to engage.

That is why we warmly invite our colleagues, alumni, companies, researchers, and students to join us.

Not simply to watch presentations, but to become part of the educational experience.
Ask questions.
Challenge assumptions.
Share your perspective.
You may help shape the next step in a student's journey.

Because the best education happens when research, teaching, and community come together.

📣 LEONARDO and the Startup World

At LEONARDO, we don't see entrepreneurship as a destination.

We see it as a mindset.

A mindset that encourages students and researchers to identify opportunities, embrace uncertainty, validate assumptions, build solutions, and create value for society.

Born within NECSTLab, LEONARDO was designed to help transform research into innovation and innovation into impact. We believe that every breakthrough technology has the potential to become more than a scientific achievement, it can become a startup, a product, a company, or a solution capable of improving people's lives.

Entrepreneurship is not something that begins after graduation.

It starts the moment you begin asking:

Who needs this?
What problem am I solving?
How can I validate my idea?
Can this create value?

That is why LEONARDO exposes participants to the entrepreneurial ecosystem from day one.

Through CSI, Creativity, Science and Innovation, students work on real-world challenges proposed by companies, learn how to identify opportunities, design solutions, pitch ideas, receive feedback, and iterate quickly.

As they continue their journey, they engage with founders, investors, researchers, startups, corporations, and mentors who help them understand that entrepreneurship is not only about launching a company—it is about creating impact through action.

Some projects will become startups.

Others will become research collaborations, industrial innovations, or open-source technologies.

For us, success is not measured only by the number of companies created.

It is measured by the number of people who develop the confidence, curiosity, and entrepreneurial attitude to turn ideas into reality.

Because the next great startup often begins with a question asked in a laboratory.

And the next generation of entrepreneurs is already sitting in our classrooms.
