How can Virtual Reality make chemical engineering education more engaging, interactive and effective?
The VRChem – Innovative Integration of Virtual Reality in Chemical Engineering Education project, running from 2024 to 2027, explores the potential of VR to support innovative teaching practices and the development of digital and green skills at university level.
Together with an international consortium of universities, including Politecnico di Milano, the project is developing educational resources, a VR platform with practical scenarios and exercises, and a guide to support teachers in integrating VR into their courses.
By enabling students to interact with realistic 3D representations of chemical plants and equipment in a safe and controlled environment, VR can offer new ways to explore complex processes and enhance the learning experience.
