We arrived mid-morning at Azienda Agricola Janas, a farm dedicated to keeping older varieties of Italian wheat from disappearing. We made pasta with stone ground flour made from this wheat and enjoyed the ambience and animals of the farm.

It was a crisp, sunny morning for our tour of the Roman Forum and Colosseum. After lunch we saw the Imperial Fora with the Trajan's column and on to three sites with ancient beginnings: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

We traveled to nearby Cantine Neri for a tour of the winery, an historic property with Etruscan caves now used for aging wine and a house built by the Knights Templar. After our tour we enjoyed a wine tasting paired with a three course lunch, where we tasted two white wines, two red wines and a local fortified dessert wine made with cherries.

After lunch, we traveled to Pompeii to explore the ancient city once buried by over 13 feet of volcanic ash.

Our day started before sunrise to reach Naples around 10am. We toured the Archaeological Museum which features the Farnese Collection of Roman sculptures as well as archaeological finds from the nearby cities buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in AD79.

A beautiful day in Vatican City. In the morning we visited Saint Peter's Basilica. After lunch we toured the Vatican Museums.
