Investigation Fatigue Life of 3D Printed Amorphous PEEK

Estimating the fatigue life of 3D-printed PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is crucial, as functional parts like medical and mechanical components experience repeated stress over time.The functionality of such components could be compromised by fatigue failures that are usually due to a high number of load cycles with magnitude significantly lower than the static strength limit.

Conducted by Luigi Ruccolo, as part of his master's thesis, and supervised by Beatrice Rossetti using the Litem BYC 200 machine available at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture (DICAR) of Pavia University. The research activity was managed by Gianluca Alaimo, Stefania Marconi and Ferdinando Auricchio.
The aim of this study is to predict the 3D printed PEEK fatigue life using the Basquin model.

Numerical simulation of 3D printed FFF parts through G-code derived geometry

A groundbreaking Coding code developed by researchers at ProtoLab.
This code generates precise interior (infill) and exterior (perimeters) geometries for any components based on G-code instructions.

Is the geometry reconstruction accurate enough for a reliable prediction of the mechanical response of the gyroid beam samples? To test this, the LitemBYC200 machine was used.

The original idea came from Gianluca Alaimo and Alberto Cattenone, with supervision and support from Ferdinando Auricchio. Francesca Rotini and Stefania Marconi at ProtoLab tackled the challenge by developing an in-house MATLAB code.

Presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Architettura - Meccanica Computazionale e Materiali Avanzati dall' Università degli studi di Pavia, il team di TOOT Racing Factory Team diretto da Romolo Stanco, il direttore del CompMech@UniPV prof Ferdinando Auricchio e il responsabile del Protolab Università di Pavia ing Gianluca Alaimo presenteranno la sfida Olimpica che con il management di Erica Marson ha già portato idee, tecnologia, innovazione e atleti a primeggiare nel mondo grazie a un approccio rivoluzionario.

Con la direzione del team di Erica Marson, insieme ai partner che hanno già creduto al progetto verrà lanciata la nuova sfida che dopo l'esordio ai Campionati del Mondo su pista 2023 con la rivoluzionaria e l'omologazione di 16 componenti per le di Parigi 2024 si propone di portare nel mondo del di performance idee, contenuti e tecnologie per permettere agli atleti di esprimere al massimo il loro potenziale.
