🇮🇹 🌈 “A Bridge for the Future”: UniPv lancia il crowdfunding per sostenere il diritto allo studio per i giovani palestinesi. Proposta da alcuni docenti dell’Ateneo, l’iniziativa è organizzata dall’Area Ricerca e Terza Missione, in collaborazione con il GLOBEC, e mira a raccogliere fondi per offrire a giovani palestinesi l’opportunità di completare la propria formazione in Italia.

🫶 Grazie alle donazioni raccolte, sarà possibile offrire a giovani provenienti da territori colpiti da guerra e povertà estrema l’opportunità di riprendere gli studi in un ambiente sicuro, lontano da guerre e precarietà economica. Potranno completare la propria formazione e contribuire positivamente alla ricostruzione del loro paese d’origine e allo sviluppo della società globale.

🇬🇧 🌈 “A Bridge for the Future”: UniPv launches a crowdfunding campaign to support the right to education for young Palestinians. Proposed by some of the university’s faculty members, the initiative is organized by the Research and Third Mission Area, in collaboration with GLOBEC, aiming to raise funds to give young Palestinians the opportunity to complete their education in Italy.

🫶 Thanks to the donations collected, it will be possible to offer young people from war-torn and extremely poor areas the chance to resume their studies in a safe environment, away from conflict and economic hardship. They will be able to complete their education and contribute positively to the reconstruction of their home country and the development of global society.

EMPOWERING WOMEN FARMERS. Lessons from Ethiopia and South Sudan🌿

This session will shed light on the crucial role women play in agroecological transitions, household nutrition, and community resilience—especially in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. Whether you work in development, research, policy, or simply care about gender equality and sustainable agriculture, this meeting offers valuable insights and evidence-based reflections. Through two in-depth case studies, we will discuss lessons learned from Ethiopia and South Sudan, highlighting both challenges and pathways to more resilient and equitable food systems.

🙌The city of Pavia is proud to welcome a Palestinian researcher from Gaza, thanks to a remarkable collaborative effort between the University of Pavia, the Municipality, local associations, and private citizens!
This successful arrival is a testament to a true network of aid and cooperation.
🌎 This initiative is part of the national IUPALS program (Italian Universities for Palestinian Students) coordinated by CRUI, the Conference of Italian University Rectors.
The University of Pavia, with its 20-year commitment to the Palestinian cause, is stepping up once again by admitting ten Palestinian students to its degree and master's programs.
The researcher, who is the first to arrive, has been awarded a CICOPS scholarship. His journey and settlement have been supported by an exceptional support network, including CICOPS, the "Amici della Mongolfiera" Association, the City Council, a kind citizen providing an apartment, and Caritas.
The University is actively working to ensure all admitted students can reach Pavia soon to begin their academic journey.✨

Un'intera giornata di dibattito e approfondimento su quella che è una delle emergenze più pressanti di oggi: l'insicurezza alimentare globale.

The University of Pavia had the honor of welcoming the two CICOPS Fellows 2025, with the support of Dr. Stefania Ferrari from the Centre for International Cooperation and Development.

🎓 The official diplomas were awarded to Tessera Alemneh Wubieneh (Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia) and Reza Zakerinejad (University of Isfahan, Iran), who now serve as academic ambassadors of the University of Pavia in their home institutions.

The CICOPS programme, funded by the University of Pavia, offers talented researchers from developing countries the opportunity to carry out a research stay and collaborate with colleagues at the university. It plays a key role in fostering global academic cooperation and knowledge exchange.

🙏 Special thanks to Professor Maria Sassi for her dedication to international cooperation and for her crucial role in supporting the academic activities of the CICOPS Fellows during their stay in Pavia.

🌍 Are you a student from a country affected by armed conflict?
Have you lived in — or are you coming from — a region recently impacted by war?

Then your voice matters. And it can make a real difference.

🎓 A group of students from the International Law course (Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Pavia) is developing a project called ROOTS – Relationships Offering Opportunities for Trust and Sharing:
a path to build bridges between students from war or post-conflict zones, through restorative justice and intercultural dialogue.

🌱 We believe the university can — and should — be a place of reconciliation, listening, and transformation. That’s why we are creating a space that blends reflection with shared activities: music, folk dance, theater, walking together, and art — all supported by trained facilitators.

👥 How can you help?
We’re looking for students willing to contribute in one (or both) of these ways:

Sharing your thoughts and feedback on the project’s structure

Joining a few of the workshop activities, starting mid-September (max 6 participants per group)
