June 22nd, 2017. Final Defense International Doctorate Program “Urban regeneration & economic development”

The Final Defense for the candidates of the Urban Regeneration and Economic Development PhD Program, will be held on Thursday, June 22 (3:00 pm) at the Aula Magna of the former Faculty of Architecture of the City of Reggio Calabria. The event marks the conclusion of the Second Cycle of the Program, started in 2012.

The International Doctoral Program reached its 5th Cycle and represents a permanent link between Research (7FP-H2020) and Development (POR FSE Region of Calabria) Policies.

The topics covered by the PhD candidates respond to the key objective of the Program: propose concrete plans and actions for the Calabrian territory, in consistence with the new European programming period, European Policies and the programmatic tools defined by the National (PON) and Regional (POR) Operative Programs.

22 Giugno Esame finale del Dottorato internazionale “Urban regeneration & economic development”

Giovedì 22 giugno alle ore 15:00 presso l’Aula Magna ex Facoltà di Architettura, si terrà l’esame finale di dottorato per i candidati appartenenti al Corso di Dottorato Internazionale “Urban Regeneration & Economic Development”. L’evento conclude il secondo Ciclo del Corso di Dottorato attivato nel 2012.

Il Corso di Dottorato Internazionale, arrivato al suo V Ciclo, rappresenta un collegamento permanente tra Politiche di Ricerca (7FP-H2020) e Politiche di Sviluppo (POR FSE Regione Calabria).

Le tematiche trattate con le Tesi di Dottorato rispondono all’ obiettivo cardine del Programma URED: proporre progettualità concrete per il territorio calabrese, in coerenza con la nuova programmazione delle Politiche Europee e gli strumenti programmatici definiti in sede Nazionale (PON) e Regionale (POR).

First academic course of the Year for our new fellows!!!

Prof. Chirster Bengs will hold his course 3-weeks-lasting which concens "Spatial Planning".

The course is open to everybody and the access is FREE!

The course aims at providing an introduction to spatial planning by presenting:

1. A geographically hierarchical model for analysing physical environment

2. Various approaches to spatial planning (visual, social, economic, heritage)

3. Conceptualising and reasoning in the context of scientific research (science as institution, teleological and causal explanations, meaning and language, rhetoric and argumentation)

The overall aim is to underpin the complexity of the issue of spatial planning, and to encourage the students to investigate multiple approaches to their respective research interest. The need for personal involvement and self-management is stressed.
