Two inspiring days in Rome for the “Renaissance in Economics” III International Conference in Civil Economy, hosted by the Universities of Tor Vergata and Roma Tre, with the active participation of the MESCI Master students.

The conference brought together scholars, students, alumni, and professionals for a rich exchange of ideas on development economics, inequality, sustainability, and social change.

A special highlight was the social dinner at the beautiful Villa Mondragone, where MESCI alumni joined current participants together with students from the Executive Programme, creating a truly intergenerational and international community.

We were honored to listen to outstanding speakers including Ravi Kanbur and Bina Agarwal, whose contributions offered valuable insights and inspired stimulating discussions throughout the event.

An enriching experience that confirmed once again the importance of dialogue, academic collaboration, and community building across institutions and generations.

We are pleased to welcome Sami Ashour, a Palestinian student of the MESCI Master’s program, to Italy.

Sami is among the 72 students from Gaza recently welcomed to Italy through the humanitarian and academic support initiative promoted by the Italian Government and received by Minister Antonio Tajani.

His arrival represents not only the beginning of an important academic journey, but also a meaningful symbol of resilience, hope, and international solidarity through education. We are proud to support talented students from diverse backgrounds and to foster an academic community built on dialogue, inclusion, and opportunity.

At the same time, one of our MESCI students is still in Gaza. We remain deeply committed to doing everything possible to help bring him safely to Italy and allow him to continue his academic path with us.

Education must remain a bridge to peace, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Welcome, Sami!

A Special Visit to FAO HQ

We are delighted to share the enriching experience of the MESCI students during their today's visit to the FAO Headquarters.

This visit provided a unique opportunity to explore the vital work carried out by the Food and Agriculture Organization in addressing global challenges such as food security, sustainable agriculture, and climate change. During their time at FAO, the students also had the opportunity to visit the Food and Agriculture Museum & Network (MuNe), where they explored the cultural, historical, and scientific dimensions of food systems and agriculture.

Moments like these are essential in inspiring the next generation of global citizens and future leaders. We are proud of our students for their curiosity, enthusiasm, and active participation throughout the visit.

A heartfelt thank you to FAO for the warm welcome and for sharing such an inspiring vision for a better and more sustainable world.
