L'Accademia di Costume e di Moda è da 50 anni un Istituto di eccellenza nella formazione della Moda e del Costume. Research is where every meaningful vision begins.

Through their visit to , our Master in Menswear Design students immersed themselves in the world of contemporary and vintage menswear, exploring garments, materials and archival pieces that have shaped the evolution of men’s fashion over time.

An experience that encouraged them to observe beyond aesthetics — analysing construction, craftsmanship, experimentation and the cultural value embedded within every garment.

Because studying fashion today also means understanding the importance of archives, sustainability and research as essential tools for building a more conscious and authentic creative vision.

At ACM, we believe learning happens through direct experience, dialogue and discovery — where the past becomes a source of inspiration for imagining the future of fashion.

The Final Presentation of our MA in Fabrics Innovation Design students is here!

In collaboration with the and led by Project Leader , our students explored “The Wardrobe of an Icon”, a project where fabric becomes the starting point for storytelling, identity and design.

From David Bowie to Rihanna, each wardrobe system reimagined iconic personalities through textile research, material experimentation and contemporary design language.

Ruggero explores the father-son relationship through dressed bodies, personal objects and fragmented imagery, tracing the emotional layers of memory and affection.
Developed as an intimate visual narrative, the project moves between presence and absence, translating recollections, emotional distance and reconciliation into tangible forms and evocative atmospheres.

A concept which investigates the value of imagination and questioning in the construction of meaning, using play and shared storytelling to open a dialogue between children and adults.
Conceived as an open and participatory experience, the project invites interaction, exchange and collective reflection, transforming narration into a space where curiosity and imagination can freely unfold.

This project reimagines botany as a symbolic, visual and cultural system through an imaginary encyclopaedia and a non-scientific herbarium.
Blending research, archive and visual experimentation, the project reframes the vegetal world as a collective and interdisciplinary network of meanings, memories and associations, where nature becomes both subject and language.

“Marameo” reflects on the expressive power of gesture through a short film and an editorial publication where emotion unfolds beyond language.
Moving through bodies, movements and silent exchanges, the project constructs a visual narrative shaped by intimacy, connection and non-verbal communication, revealing how meaning can emerge without the use of words.

A project which investigates unconventional aesthetics within contemporary fashion through an editorial language that is both direct and culturally aware.
By decoding complex cultural phenomena through image and visual storytelling, the project proposes an alternative way of reading fashion today; one that embraces ambiguity, experimentation and new visual codes.

Conceived as both a publication and an exhibition, the project creates space for voices, experiences and identities too frequently overlooked, inviting a deeply human reflection on dignity, vulnerability and social perception.

The project reflects on the evolving forms of the sacred within contemporary culture, weaving together a visual encyclopaedia and critical contributions from experts.
Balancing devotion, irony and aesthetic research, the project traces the shifting boundaries between spirituality, symbolism and image-making, opening a dialogue on how faith is reinterpreted through modern visual culture.
