2012-2022 Dipartimento di Ingegneria, in precedenza Facoltà di Ingegneria. Il Dipartimento è in un campus cittadino, organizzato e vivibile, in una storica area industriale di Roma ampiamente riqualificata, a poca distanza dalla Basilica di San Paolo e dalla metropolitana. Svolge attività di ricerca al massimo livello internazionale in molti settori dell’ingegneria e delle scienze di base, con collaborazioni e finanziamenti da tutto il mondo. Selezionato dal Ministero, nel quadriennio 2018-2022, tra i 180 Dipartimenti di Eccellenza. L’Offerta Didattica, articolata in Corsi di Studio nei settori dell’Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale, Informatica e Gestionale, Aeronautica ed Industriale, è costantemente aggiornata attraverso collaborazioni e rapporti diretti con il mondo aziendale, garantendo elevati livelli occupazionali per i propri laureati.

Siamo lieti di annunciare che il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Informatica e delle Tecnologie Aeronautiche (DICITA) dell'Università degli Studi Roma Tre ospiterà la Conferenza SAPOE 2026 della Society of Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineers (SAPOE), in programma a Roma il 21 e 22 ottobre 2026.

L'evento riunirà professionisti, ricercatori, rappresentanti dell'industria aeronautica e del mondo accademico per confrontarsi sui principali temi che stanno caratterizzando l'evoluzione del settore: prestazioni degli aeromobili, operazioni di volo, certificazione, sostenibilità, digitalizzazione e applicazioni dell'intelligenza artificiale.
Per il DICITA e per Roma Tre, ospitare una conferenza internazionale di questo livello rappresenta un'importante occasione di confronto tra ricerca, formazione e industria, oltre che un'opportunità per rafforzare le collaborazioni con la comunità aeronautica internazionale.

We are pleased to announce that the Department of Civil, Computer Science and Aeronautical Technologies (DICITA) of the University of Roma Tre will host the SAPOE 2026 Conference of the Society of Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineers (SAPOE), taking place in Rome on 21-22 October 2026.

The conference will bring together professionals, researchers, industry representatives, and academics to discuss key topics shaping the future of aviation, including aircraft performance, flight operations, certification, sustainability, digitalization, and artificial intelligence.
For DICITA and Roma Tre, hosting an international conference of this caliber is an important opportunity to foster dialogue between academia and industry and to strengthen connections with the global aviation community.

RTre-VTOL conquista il primo posto nella MSc Student Competition di eVTOLUTION!

Complimenti ad Alessio Mazzacrelli, Lorenzo Chiavari, David Biagetti, Matteo Orlandi e Stefano Pasanisi per la vittoria nella competizione europea dedicata alla mobilità aerea avanzata.

🚀 La sfida? Progettare un eVTOL ibrido fuel cell-batteria per una missione di circa 50 km tra l’aeroporto di Bruxelles-Zaventem e il porto di Anversa, ottimizzando prestazioni, gestione energetica e massa del sistema.

Un grande risultato che valorizza innovazione, competenze ingegneristiche e impegno nella progettazione dell’aviazione sostenibile del futuro!

👏 Congratulazioni al team per questo importante traguardo e per aver rappresentato il nostro Dipartimento a livello internazionale!

Margaret Hamilton: un’eredità oltre la Luna 🌙

Proprio nei giorni della World Space Week, ci ha lasciati Margaret Hamilton (1936–2026), pioniera dell'ingegneria del software e figura fondamentale nella storia dell'esplorazione spaziale.
Negli anni Sessanta, quando le donne erano ancora poco rappresentate nei settori scientifici e tecnologici, Hamilton guidò al MIT il team che sviluppò il software di bordo delle missioni Apollo. Il suo lavoro fu determinante per il successo dell'allunaggio di Apollo 11 nel 1969 e contribuì a porre le basi della moderna ingegneria del software.
La sua eredità va ben oltre la conquista della Luna: ci ricorda che il talento non ha genere e che il progresso ha bisogno del contributo di tutte e di tutti.
Alle ragazze che oggi scelgono la scienza, la tecnologia e l'ingegneria, lascia un messaggio: il futuro non è soltanto da immaginare, ma da costruire.

🌙 Margaret Hamilton: A Legacy Beyond the Moon
As we celebrate World Space Week, we mourn the passing of Margaret Hamilton (1936–2026), a pioneer of software engineering and a key figure in the history of space exploration.
In the 1960s, when women were still underrepresented in science and technology, Hamilton led the MIT team that developed onboard software for NASA's Apollo missions. Her work was crucial to the success of the Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969 and helped lay the foundations of modern software engineering.
Her legacy reaches far beyond the Moon: talent knows no gender, and progress needs everyone's contribution.
To young women pursuing science, technology and engineering today, she leaves an inspiring message: the future is not just something to imagine, but something to build.

Il 23 e 24 settembre 2026 il nostro ha ospitato il Progress Meeting del 30° mese del progetto europeo eVTOLUTION, riunendo i partner del consorzio internazionale per fare il punto sui risultati raggiunti e sulle attività future.

Il progetto eVTOLUTION affronta una delle sfide più ambiziose del settore aeronautico: supportare lo sviluppo degli aeromobili eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) destinati alla mobilità aerea urbana, migliorandone le prestazioni aerodinamiche e riducendone l'impatto acustico.

Attraverso un approccio multidisciplinare che integra simulazioni numeriche a diversi livelli di fedeltà, modelli data-driven e validazioni sperimentali, il progetto mira a rendere più efficiente il processo di progettazione delle future piattaforme di trasporto aereo sostenibile.

A circa tre quarti del percorso progettuale, il meeting di Roma ha rappresentato un'importante occasione di confronto tecnico e scientifico tra i partner europei, confermando il ruolo centrale della collaborazione internazionale nell'innovazione aeronautica.

On 23-24 September 2026, our Department hosted the Month 30 Progress Meeting of the European project eVTOLUTION, bringing together partners from across the consortium to review achievements and discuss the next phases of the project.

eVTOLUTION addresses one of the most challenging topics in modern aviation: supporting the development of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban air mobility by improving aerodynamic performance and reducing noise emissions.

Through a multidisciplinary approach combining low-, mid- and high-fidelity simulations, data-driven models, and experimental validation, the project aims to streamline the design process of next-generation sustainable air mobility platforms.

With the project now approaching its final stages, the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for technical and scientific exchange among European partners, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in shaping the future of aviation.

🇮🇹 COMUNICAZIONE IMPORTANTE | CALENDARIO ESAMI 2026/2027

Il Consiglio di Dipartimento di ICITA, nella seduta del 13 marzo 2026, ha approvato il calendario delle lezioni per l’A.A. 2026/2027, introducendo anche un IV periodo di esami, previsto dall’8 al 12 novembre 2027, per i corsi che non abbiano effettuato prove intermedie.

📌 Per l’A.A. 2025/2026, il IV periodo di esami si svolgerà dal 9 al 13 novembre 2026, per i corsi che:
• non abbiano effettuato prove intermedie;
• non abbiano già effettuato 6 appelli nell’anno accademico in corso.

⚠️ Considerata la durata estremamente ridotta del IV periodo, sarà possibile prenotare e sostenere un solo esame di profitto, principalmente per motivi logistici.

📚 Durante questo periodo, la didattica sarà sospesa.

IMPORTANT NOTICE | EXAM CALENDAR 2026/2027

At its meeting on March 13, 2026, the ICITA Department Council approved the 2026/2027 academic year teaching calendar, including the introduction of a 4th examination period, scheduled from November 8 to 12, 2027, for courses that have not held intermediate assessments.

📌 For the 2025/2026 academic year, the 4th examination period will take place from November 9 to 13, 2026, for courses that:
• have not held intermediate assessments;
• have not already held 6 examination sessions during the current academic year.

⚠️ Given the extremely limited duration of this examination period, students will be allowed to book and take only one exam, mainly for logistical reasons.

📚 During this period, teaching activities will be suspended.
