The IECLO and EU-GLOBACT staff are glad to announce the publication of the JICL Special Issue “EU-GLOBACT HANDBOOK on EUROCRIMES”, available at this link: https://www.jiclonline.org/category/volume-2026/special-issue/
This JICL Special Issue constitutes one of the scientific products of the Jean Monnet Course EU-GLOBACT (Transnational Crime and EU Law: Towards Global Action against Cross-border Threats to common security, rule of law and human rights), co-funded by the European Commission (2023-2026).The IECLO and EU-GLOBACT activities and related communications will resume in September.

The International and European Criminal Law Observatory expresses its deepest closeness and most sincere condolences to the people of Venezuela and to all the communities affected by the recent and devastating earthquake.

In this time of emergency and hardship, our thoughts are especially with the victims, their families, and all those who have lost their homes or livelihoods. We look with profound admiration and gratitude to the courage of the first responders, law enforcement, and volunteers who are working tirelessly around the clock to save lives and provide relief.

Si è tenuto lunedì 11 maggio, presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Giuridiche dell'Università degli Studi di Salerno, l'atteso seminario dal titolo "THE FIGHT AGAINST IRREGULAR AND ILLEGAL WORK IN THE INTERNATIONAL AND EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE".
L'incontro, svoltosi nell'ambito del modulo
Jean Monnet EU-GLOBACT co-finanziato dalla Commissione Europea, ha offerto un'importante occasione di riflessione sulle sfide globali poste dalle nuove tecnologie alla sicurezza e ai diritti umani.
L'evento è stato introdotto dalla Prof.ssa
Anna Oriolo (Associato di Diritto internazionale, Direttrice dell'Osservatorio
IECLO e Coordinatrice scientifica di EU-GLOBACT) e ha visto l'autorevole intervento della Prof.ssa Marianna Russo (Ricercatrice, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), che ha approfondito la lotta al lavoro irregolare e illegale in ottica nazionale, europea e internazionale.
Ringraziamo i numerosi studenti, ricercatori e professionisti legali che hanno partecipato attivamente al dibattito presso l'Osservatorio IECLO, confermando l'importanza della cooperazione multidisciplinare contro le minacce transnazionali.

🇪🇺 🇪🇺 On 27 March 2026, the Lecture entitled “SAFE SEAS, PROTECTED EUROPE: THE ROLE OF ITALIAN COAST GUARD WITHIN THE EU REGULATORY FRAMEWORK” took place in Room 2 of the B1 Building of the University of Salerno.

🎯 🎯 The event sparked an interesting debate on the crucial role of the Italian Coast Guard within the EU legal framework.

👏👏 Thanks to our guest speaker Commander Livio Scirocco and as well as the staff of Jean Monnet Module EU-GLOBACT and International and European Criminal Law Observatory (IECLO).

On 12 February 2026 starting from 9:30 a.m. the Aix Marseille University (Faculté de droit et de science politique – avenue Robert Schuman – Aix-en-Provence), has held a conference entitled “Le transport maritime de marchandis illicites” (The Maritime Transport of Illicit Goods) in which our Director, Prof. Anna Oriolo, has held a speech on “Le trafic d’armes et la sûreté mondiale en droit international et européen” (Arms Trafficking and Global Security in International and European Legal Systems).
