📢 *Calling all PhD students and young researchers!*

We are thrilled to announce that the *21st LARAM School* is officially heading to *Lausanne, Switzerland this September!* 🇨🇭 After a legendary session in 2019, we are heading back for another two weeks of world-class training on LAndslide Risk Assessment and Mitigation.
​The LARAM School is a unique opportunity for those in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Engineering Geology, and related fields to dive deep into landslide risk through formal lessons, hands-on tutorials, and field training.

🌍 LARAM 2025 – 20th Edition

Yesterday morning (18 Sept 2025), LARAM 2025 had the honor of hosting Prof. VASSILIOS MARINOS, President of the International Association of Engineering Geology and the Environment (IAEG), as one of our distinguished lecturers.

Prof. MARINOS delivered an inspiring lecture that provided participants with invaluable insights into Rock instabilities mitigation and Rock reduction for rocky slope.

The LARAM School Scientific and Technical Committee sincerely thanks Prof. Vassilios Marinos for sharing his expertise, vision, and experience, making an unforgettable learning experience.

🌍 13th LARAM Workshop – Landslide Residual Risk

Yesterday the 13th LARAM Workshop in Salerno, focused on Landslide Residual Risk, was held. It was an inspiring day of learning, discussion, and collaboration with leading experts in landslide risk assessment and mitigation.

🔹 Key Takeaways

Morning session: Explored post-event residual risk — understanding what risks remain after a landslide and before any intervention.

Afternoon session: Focused on post-intervention residual risk — evaluating the effectiveness of mitigation measures and strategies to manage remaining hazards.

The event was jointly organized with the Association of Professional Engineers of Salerno Province ( degli Ingegneri della provincia di Salerno), and the President of OrdIngSa, Eng. Tarateta, introduced the topics and started the technical sessions.

A big thank you to the organizers and all the lecturers for such an engaging and insightful event!
