Happy World Environment Day! 🌍

Today, we come together to celebrate the incredible diversity of life on our planet and reflect on the actions we can take to protect it. This day is a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to nurture and preserve the natural world, aligning with the 15th Sustainable Development Goal: Life on Land.

✨SDG 15 emphasizes the urgent need to manage our forests sustainably, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and put an end to biodiversity loss. Our ecosystems are vital for our survival, providing us with clean air, water, and fertile soil, as well as countless species of plants and animals that contribute to the planet's health and our well-being.

🌳By adopting eco-friendly habits and making mindful choices in our daily lives, we can contribute significantly to these goals. Simple actions like reducing plastic use, conserving water, planting trees, and supporting sustainable products can lead to substantial positive changes.

Let's use this day to inspire one another and take actionable steps towards a more sustainable future.

Together, we can make a difference and ensure a thriving planet for generations to come. 🌱💪

📣The Europe Sustainable Development Report 2023/24 is out!

Produced by SDSN in collaboration with SDSN Northern Europe and the EESC - European Economic and Social Committee, the new report highlights that at the current rate, one-third of the targets will not be achieved by the EU by 2030 and that decisive actions must be taken in the EU to avoid environmental and social “tipping points.”

To address these issues, the ESDR offers essential contributions for the EU to strengthen its SDG leadership at home and internationally.

Complementing the report, a group of 200+ scientists, experts, and practitioners from 25 European countries also published today a joint 'Call for Action' targeting political parties and the future EU leadership to lay the foundation for a new European Deal for the Future with ten priority actions.

🔙 Did you miss yesterday's event at the World Food Forum? No worries, it was recorded and you can still catch up!

Our former Youth Network Coordinator Martina Razzaboni joined the event organized by the FAO Liaison Office in Brussels (LOB), in partnership with Refresh Brussels, the City of Ghent in partnership with Aroma's vzw, the EESC - European Economic and Social Committee, EIT Food FoodEducators, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth, Generation Climate Europe and the UN Brussels Youth Taskforce.

Speakers and participants had the chance to present their youth-led initiatives contributing to more sustainable food systems, discuss the challenges faced by youth trying to innovate the agri-food sector and some lighter personal reflections on their path in sustainability and "food awakening" moments 🍝
