As part of the project, The Serpent: Creating Symbols from Antiquity to the Present, students in the History of Art course have completed their projects under the guidance of multidisciplinary artist Julia Krahn and our faculty Anna Tuck.

Working across photography, sculpture, and written expression, each project reflects a personal interpretation of the serpent’s symbolism, connecting historical research with contemporary artistic practice.

This final stage highlights the evolution of each student’s work, shaped through experimentation, dialogue, and creative exploration.

Our Ecology faculty Dr. Flavia Occhibove led a "Women in STEM" seminar as one of the concluding events of our spring collaboration with the local Liceo Scientifico "G. Salvemini", exploring the global gender gap and the importance of inclusive innovation.

Sant’Anna Institute students contributed by sharing their academic paths and research, from cancer studies to environmental solutions, before joining local students in breakout sessions to discuss challenges and propose actions for greater gender equality in STEM.

It is one of our missions to create spaces where international and local students can connect, exchange perspectives, and engage with topics shaping the future. A special thank you to the leadership of Liceo Scientifico "G. Salvemini" for making this opportunity possible!

Where history becomes the classroom 🏛️
