The European University Festival is a scientific research event with the ambition of leaving future generations a solid scientific and cultural network, bringing together universities, students, researchers, and partners from all over the world.

We are honoured to announce that the Dicastery for Culture and Education of the Holy See has expressed a positive opinion regarding the granting of its patronage to the European University Festival.

This represents an important institutional recognition for our European project, already supported by the Italian National Commission for UNESCO and held under the High Patronage of the European Parliament.

The European University Festival will officially launch its permanent platform on 21 May 2026 in Turin, while the international final event will take place in May 2027, bringing together universities, institutions, young people, scientific research, culture and innovation from across Europe.

We sincerely thank Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça and the Dicastery for Culture and Education for the attention and support dedicated to our initiative.

Our mission remains clear: to build a permanent European platform capable of connecting the academic world with the major challenges of the future.

Starting on 21 May 2026, the European University Festival will officially launch the European call addressed to universities, academies, research institutions and higher education networks across Europe.

Participants will have six months to submit projects and proposals dedicated to:

🌍 Climate Action
🔬 Scientific Innovation
🎨 Art & Communication
🍃 Sustainability and Environmental Transition

The most innovative projects will be selected by the Scientific Committee, and 24 finalist universities and institutions will be invited to Turin for the final phase of the European University Festival.

The Festival aims to create a permanent European platform capable of transforming academic research into concrete impact through collaboration between universities, institutions, industry and civil society.

Gen Z is not giving up on driving.
It is redefining mobility.

According to Deloitte (2025), an increasing number of young people are delaying or avoiding obtaining a driver’s license.

This is not only an economic shift.
It reflects a deeper transformation in how freedom and mobility are perceived.

Dr. Gabriele Carofiglio Joins the Scientific Committee of the European University Festival

The European University Festival is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Gabriele Carofiglio to its Scientific Committee.

An environmental biologist, science teacher, and representative for the city of Bari, Dr. Carofiglio brings to the Festival extensive experience in education and science communication, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.

Graduated with honors in Environmental Biology and licensed as a professional biologist, he has collaborated with leading institutions such as ARPA Puglia, COISPA Tecnologia e Ricerca, and the University of Bari.

He also serves as a regional coordinator for Plastic Free, a partner of the European University Festival and an international organization committed to combating plastic pollution and raising environmental awareness.

His participation will further strengthen the scientific value of the Festival, with particular attention to environmental protection and climate change.
