[NEWS] We are pleased to share that Dr. Irena Lovčević, a former postdoctoral researcher at the Babylab of WPI-IRCN, has been featured in the “Researchers Voice” series on the WPI Forum, operated by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

The article highlights her research on language acquisition and early cognitive development, as well as her experience in the international and interdisciplinary environment at WPI-IRCN. She is currently a JSPS International Research Fellow at Keio University and continues her collaboration with WPI-IRCN.

[Event Report] We welcomed 30 students from Tokyo Gakugei University Senior High School to IRCN on February 5, 2026, for a science field study program exploring the frontiers of neuroscience and AI.

The program featured a lecture by Kantaro Fujiwara-sensei, Core Manager of the Data Science Core and Associate Professor at IRCN, The University of Tokyo.
This was followed by hands-on laboratory tours, where students experienced cutting-edge research environments firsthand.

[Symposium Report]On December 8, 2025, the symposium “Infant Language Development Research in the 21st Century” was held at Fukutake Hall, the University of Tokyo. [News] On March 12, 2026, Dr. Yukiko Gotoh, Professor in Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Deputy Director and Principal Investigator at IRCN, the University of Tokyo, received the Imperial Prize of the Japan Academy and the Japan Academy Prize. These prestigious awards are presented by the Japan Academy to scholars who have achieved outstanding academic accomplishments.

[Report] We welcomed junior high school students from Kyoto to IRCN to experience cutting-edge neuroscience in English.

Students presented their ideas on the “ideal future” through music and discussed brain–machine interfaces, brain activity decoding, and the concept of accuracy with Dr. Zenas Chao. The visit also included a demonstration of EEG measurement used in neuroscience research.
