人類にとってlast resortと呼ばれるコリスチン。この薬剤耐性が2016年にプラスミドとともに耐性遺伝子で伝達されることが発表されました。日本は翌年養豚に使用されていたコリスチンを制限しました。内閣府食品安全委員会から委託された本研究では、定量的に耐性菌が選択されるメカニズムを再現して農場での発生評価とリスクの変化予測をしています。実験班が納得する内容でモデルを作り上げていったのが大変でしたが今では良い思い出です。先週公開となりましたのでお知らせします。

北海道東部地域で多発した牛のマイコプラズマ性乳房炎について、群間、個体間症例対照研究によりリスク因子解析を行いました（下記リンクから50日間無料ダウンロードできます）。

本病では発見された時には牛群内に拡がっており、治療効果が低く無乳症で多くの牛が淘汰されます。感染ルートが多岐に渡り酪農家と獣医師の大きな悩みとなっています。
研究結果より、以下の対策が推奨されます。
１．感染牛の導入がリスク要因なので、導入後搾乳開始時は積極的にマイコプラズマPCR検査を実施しましょう。
２．搾乳前の乳頭口に気を付けた清拭が効果的です。
３．高泌乳牛で感受性が高いので衛生に気を付けましょう。
４．原因菌が特定出来ない乳房炎が続く場合はマイコプラズマPCR検査を受けましょう。
＊早期発見が大変重要です。

We conducted between farm and between cows case-control studies on Mycoplasma mastitis outbreak in eastern Hokkaido (50 days free download).

Mycoplasma mastitis spread widely in a dairy farm by the time a farmer notices. Infected cows poorly respond to therapy and stop milking, which leads to culling, thus big headache for farmers and vets. Our findings suggest:
1. Introduction of infected cows into a farm is a risk factor, and it is advisable to send milk for Mycoplasma PCR testing soon after an introduced cow starts milking.
2. Careful wiping of teat opening before milking can prevent the disease.
3. Cows with a high milk yield are susceptible against Mycoplasma mastitis.
4. When mastitis without isolation of causal pathogen continue, better to send milk sample for Mycoplasma PCR testing.
* Early detection is very important.
