SHONAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY "湘南工科大学” Shonan is such a wonderful location. Once you come, you’ll never want to leave!

Shonan is the area that runs along the coast from Kamakura to Odawara. It is famous for surfing and music and has been the origin of youth culture in Japan for generations. Shonan Institute of Technology (SIT) is located in the heart of the Shonan area. Students from all over Kanagawa and Tokyo are drawn to the splendor and excitement of the Shonan beaches and surrounding areas. You’ll find plenty of young people and interesting times in Shonan. Beach names like Enoshima, Kugenuma, Chigasaki, and Shichirigahama will become active words in your vocabulary. The beautiful scenery and historical sites along the sea and in the nearby cities will make it abundantly clear why Shonan is so popular among Japanese university students. Only at SIT can you take a surfing lesson by walking only a few minutes from campus. There is no other university like ours in Japan.
