広島大学は、アイダホ大学と連携し「平和と持続可能性リーダー養成のためのメガエクスチェンジプログラム」を2026年5月19日〜29日に実施し、アイダホ大学からは32人の学生、教職員5人が参加しました。
本プログラムは、ミネタ・アンバサダー・プログラム（MAP）の支援のもと、日米の学生が共に学びながら、グローバルな視野とリーダーシップを育むことを目的としています。
本プログラムでは「平和」と「持続可能性」をテーマに、
・平和学習（被爆体験講話・資料館訪問）
・地域フィールドワーク（尾道市・呉市・豊栄町・企業訪問）
・グループワーク・ディスカッション
など、多角的な学びを実施しました。
異なるバックグラウンドを持つ学生同士の対話を通じて、平和と持続可能性のつながり、地域と世界の課題を深く考える貴重な機会となりました。今後も広島大学は、国際的な対話と協働を通じて、平和で持続可能な社会に貢献する人材育成を目指します。

Hiroshima University, in collaboration with the University of Idaho, conducted the “Mega Exchange Program for Nurturing Peace and Sustainability Leaders” from May 19 to May 29, 2026.
Supported by the Mineta Ambassadors Program (MAP), this program aims to foster global perspectives and leadership by providing opportunities for students from Japan and the United States to learn together.
In Hiroshima, under the themes of “Peace” and “Sustainability,” participants engaged in a variety of learning activities, including:
• Peace education (A-bomb survivor testimony and visits to the Peace Memorial Museum)
• Fieldwork in local communities (Onomichi City, Kure City, Toyosaka Town, and company visits)
• Group work and discussions
Through dialogue among students from diverse backgrounds, the program provided a valuable opportunity to reflect deeply on the connection between peace and sustainability
and local and global challenges.
Hiroshima University will continue to promote the development of future leaders who can contribute to a peaceful and sustainable society through international dialogue and collaboration.
