Yu Jiaxi（禹 佳希）Kavli IPMU 特任研究員が「ジャシ博士、宇宙を語る～ビッグバンからダークエネルギーまで～」と題してお話をします。天動説・地動説から現代宇宙論まで、宇宙についての人間の考え方がどう変わってきたのかをたどり、ビッグバン、ダークマター、ダークエネルギー、そしてMayallやすばるといった大型望遠鏡による観測の最前線を紹介します。参加には申込みが必要です（先着順、定員50名）。ぜひお申込みください。

東京大学国際高等研究所カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構（Kavli IPMU, WPI）の松村知岳准教授が PI を務め、Kavli IPMU の研究者も参加するJAXA 主導の国際宇宙ミッション LiteBIRD は、このたびミッション定義審査（その2）を無事に通過しました。今回の通過は、LiteBIRD のミッション構想と開発計画をさらに具体化していく上で重要な節目となります。今後は、プロジェクト準備段階（フェーズ A）への移行に向けた所定の手続きを進めながら、宇宙機システム、観測装置、科学データ解析基盤および国際共同開発体制の検討を継続します。

LiteBIRD, the JAXA-led next-generation cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization satellite, has successfully passed Mission Definition Review #2. LiteBIRD involves several researchers from the University of Tokyo Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU, WPI) including the project's Principal Investigator, Associate Professor Tomotake Matsumura. The team will continue to study the satellite system, observation instruments, scientific data analysis infrastructure, and international joint development framework while proceeding with the prescribed procedures for transitioning to the project preparation phase (Phase A).

2026年6月25日、国際会議「Neutrino 2026」において、スーパーカミオカンデ国際共同研究グループは、超新星背景ニュートリノの兆候（2.6σ、99.5%信頼水準）を世界で初めて捉えたことを発表しました。超新星背景ニュートリノの観測の実現には、 Mark Vagins 教授をはじめ東京大学国際高等研究所カブリ数物連携宇宙研究機構（Kavli IPMU, WPI）の研究者も大きく貢献してきました。

The Super-Kamiokande Collaboration announced they had found the first indication of Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background (DSNB) to a significance level of 2.6 sigma (99.5% confidence level) during Neutrino 2026: ###II International Conference on Neutrino Physics and Astrophysics on June 25. The University of Tokyo Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU, WPI) researchers including Professor Mark Vagins have made significant contributions to this result.
