This website has been designed for information exchanges among the training
participants of JICA training courses, “COMPREHENSIVE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION(B) and COMMUNITY-BASED DISASTER RISK REDUCTION(B)” conducted by Kochi University since 2014. These courses are designed for the government officials of developing
countries facing the risk of “Tsunami” and “Storm and Flood”. Lectures
mainly f
ocus on Nankai Trough earthquake and the ensuing Tsunami. Participants will learn the mechanism of earthquake, scale and predicted damage, countermeasures of different capacity (national, prefectural, municipal). Training course is consisted of three main training venues,
Kochi prefecture, Hyogo prefecture and Miyagi prefecture.
