【Doshisha Clover Festival】

Hello!

Today we would like to show you some pictures from our university's culture festival, "Clover Festival."

This year, we sold handmade tapioca drinks based on the theme, "mixture of cultures." The tapioca drinks we made were milk tea, green tea, and roasted green tea. We mixed Japanese ingredients (green tea and roasted gr with tapioca (which originated in Taiwan).

At first, our goal was to sell 400 drinks, but after two days of hard work, we were able to sell about 600 drinks! We were very happy to see that many customers enjoyed them, and speaking with locals was a wonderful experience.

Clover Fes. was a blast, but do you know what's more exciting!? It's our voluntary guided tours! For those of you who do not know , we are conducting guided tours in 4 areas (Osaka, Uji, Kyotanabe, and Fushimi) and introduce unique experiences that most guide books do not include. We basically operate in four areas and each give unique tours with no fee !( fee of activities would be charged).

We, team UJI (宇治) will give tourists almost 4 hours trip around UJI area. Uji area is famous for Byoudouinn (平等院); a famous beautiful old shrine, and this area is known as the town of Genji monogatari (源氏物語); Japanese most ancient love story published a thousand years ago!!

If you join this tour, you can feel the atmosphere of Kyoto, especially old one!!

こんにちは！
GC Travel Agent ガイド班の土田大樹と申します！

みなさま、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？気温もだんだん上がってきて、空の青色と新緑が生える初夏になってきましたね。カメラ好きにはたまりませんね（笑）

今週のGCTAミーティングでは、ガイド班・PR班の進歩報告を中心に話し合いをしました。まずは秋から開始するガイドの、4つのガイド候補地（京都の宇治・伏見、大阪の池田市、そして私たち同志社大学グローバル・コミュニケーション学部の学生が毎日通っている京田辺キャンパスがある京都府京田辺市）についてガイド班からそれぞれ発表を行いました。発表の中で僕が一番驚いたのは京田辺が竹取物語の舞台であることや、貴重な文化遺産である十一面観音が大学から少し歩いたところにあるということです。高校含め京田辺に7年近く通っていて今まで知らなかったなんて、まさに灯台下暗しですね（笑）

さて、ガイド班の発表の後は、京都府の官公庁やゲストハウスに実際に足を運んで我々の活動をプロモーションしてくれているPR班に営業活動の進歩報告をしてもらいました。営業先の方は非常に前向きな方ばかりで、私たちの活動を積極的にサポートしてくださると聞いて、とても嬉しいです。また、私たちの活動に対してのアドバイスも色々いただいているので、それらを是非活かしていきたいですね！

Hi folks! I’m Daiki from GC Travel Agent.

Here in Japan, it is getting warmer and warmer these days; the blue sky and greenery are absolutely beautiful.
Let me first introduce our group more in detail. This year, we have a total of 24 students taking part in this project, and currently our team is divided up into two big groups; the Guide Team and the Promotion Team. The guide team is working hard to come up with unique and fun tours which normal travel agencies do not provide, and the promotion team is working hard to spread our group’s existence and our upcoming tours starting this September.
In this week’s in-class discussion, both the guide and promotion teams gave presentations of what they have accomplished in the past week. The guide team gave presentations about the 4 destinations that we are planning to give tours on, and they are:
1. Uji City in Kyoto
2. The Fushimi-Inari district in Kyoto
3. Ikeda City in Osaka (Famous for being the city where the instant noodle was invented)
4. Kyotanabe City in Kyoto (This is where our university is located!)

The promotion team presented on the meetings they had with local guest houses, and tourism agencies. It looks like we have been getting positive feedbacks, and our future is bright! We also received some advice on what we can improve on (not to mention, by professionals) so we would like to apply them to our tour plans, and prepare very niche but fun experiences to you!

こんにちは！同志社大学グローバル・コミュニケーション学部中国語コース4年の白橋裕子です！

花岡さんと同じく、このGC travel agentのリーダーをしています。リーダーとしてはまだまだ力不足な所も多いですが、みんなと協力していいガイドツアーが出来ればいいなと思っています！

今週のミーティングでは、少し衝突がありました。私たちは普段、PR班とガイド班で分かれて作業をしているのですが、班ごとで考え方に違いがあったようです。衝突するのはみんながちゃんと考えている証拠です。でも、その衝突のせいで亀裂が出来ないように、お互いを尊重し合えたらいいなと思います。

また、今週は今まで考えてきたガイド案には課題点がたくさんある事に気付かされた、そんな1週間でした。今のままでは大学生らしさやオリジナリティがないとアドバイス頂いたので、今後はどうすれば私たちならではのツアープランに出来るのか考えていきます。
