Today, we were delighted to welcome two lecturers and sixteen third-year Bachelor of Architecture students from Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Thailand to KIT!🇹🇭✨

The group visited us as part of their educational travels to experience our academic environment and innovative facilities. The visit featured an information session led by Prof. TAKAGI Masato from our Faculty of Design and Architecture.

The students also enjoyed a guided tour of our architecture buildings, including the design studios, our specialized Wood Factory, and the KYOTO Design Lab (D-lab). 🔨✨

Our relationship with CMU is special. Since 2017, our universities have proudly offered Japan’s first master's-level joint degree program in architecture, which is based on years of successful architectural workshops and research. 🤝

It was a pleasure hosting such a bright group of future architects.
We hope to see many of you return to KIT in the future! 🎓🎓

Yesterday, we held a 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 attended by 𝟖𝟖 eager students looking to explore global opportunities.🌏✨
海外留学説明会に𝟖𝟖名の学生が参加しました。

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐎𝐊𝐔𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐈 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐨, the new director of the International Center, offered words of encouragement based on her experiences with short-term and long-term study abroad. She noted that, although studying in a different culture presents challenges, the experience is profoundly rewarding and invaluable for personal growth.😊

We hope these students will achieve their goals and successfully take their next steps onto the global stage.✈️

KIT students recently visited 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐳𝐮 (𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜) 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞! 🇸🇬

As part of KIT's industry-academia collaboration initiatives, five of our Architecture students had the opportunity to visit Shimadzu's headquater in Southeast and South Asia regions.🌏

Although the advanced laboratory equipment differed from their daily architectural studies, this contrast made the visit truly compelling. Hearing the "real voices" and career stories of the expatriate staff was particularly stimulating for them.✨

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Shimadzu for warmly hosting our students and for answering their many questions. 😊

Happy entrance ceremony day!
It has been so warm the past few days that the cherry blossoms🌸are already starting to fall. But the "petal rain" makes the campus look beautiful.✨

There are many hidden sakura spots near the campus that are undiscovered by tourists. The Takano River and the Matsugasaki waterway.
They are great places to view cherry blossoms near campus, and the locals absolutely adore them.🥰

Today’s orientation covered campus life at KIT and in Kyoto. The international students also met their personal Japanese support students, who will help them adjust to life at KIT and navigate their new surroundings.😊

The Museum and Archives has a new lineup of original goods!
KIT students, including those in the museum practicum program, planned and designed these items.✨😊

After five wonderful years as 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, and 37 years as a faculty member of KIT, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐈 𝐊𝐚𝐞𝐤𝐨 is retiring this month. Yesterday, KIT held her final lecture, titled "𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟓 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬," in which she shared heartwarming memories of working with students, especially those from Cambodia, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. 😊

It was moving to see so many of her current students at KIT and former students travel from all over the world to attend. Many of these graduates are now leading the way as educators in their own countries. This is proof of the deep, lasting bonds Prof. Kamei has built over the years.🤝🎓

The International Center would like to express our deepest gratitude for her dedication and leadership. We wish her the very best on the next chapter of her global journey!🌏✨
