I attended CamTESOL, a well-organized academic conference centered around ASEAN but attracting English educators from around the world. As the saying goes, 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do.' When I participated wearing Cambodian attire, people thought of me as a local Cambodian teacher. The teacher in the beautiful ethnic attire next to me turned out to be from Myanmar. The first day featured an opening ceremony with a warm welcome, including traditional Cambodian music and dance. This was followed by keynote speeches.
