🥳15th Mochitsuki🎊
We are going to host the 15th Mochitsuki Event. Mochi (rice cake) is an essential food for New Year in Japan as it is considered a good luck food, and mochitsuki is a seasonal tradition in winter. Let’s eat mochi and celebrate the new year together!

Time & Date: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Tue, January 28th, 2025
Venue: Empty lot next to the Graduate School of Agriculture Bldg. 2
Fee: Free

*We are looking for up to 13 students (international and Japanese) who can help us at the day-before preparation and the event (cooking, pounding mochi, etc.). Hourly wage is 1,060 yen.
(*The flyer in paper form incorrectly states the hourly wage. The actual wage is 1,060 yen, not 1,050 yen.)

第15回餅つき大会を開催します。
餅は日本の正月には欠かせない縁起物で、餅つきは伝統的な冬の風物詩でもあります。
皆で餅を食べて、一緒に新年を祝いましょう！

日時：2025年1月28日（火）11:30-13:30
会場：農学研究科2号館東隣空き地
参加費：無料

*前日準備と餅つき大会当日の調理や餅つきなどのお手伝いしてくださる学生(留学生&日本人)を
13名程度募集します。時給は1,060円です。
（※紙媒体のチラシには時給1,050円と記載されていますが、正しい時給は1,060円です。）

We are delighted to invite new international students to our orientation and welcome party.
Join the orientation to learn about important and helpful information to make your life in Japan easier, and make new friends at the welcome party.
At the Welcome Party, food (regular menu and vegetarian menu) and soft drink will be provided free of charge. We look forward to seeing you all!

Visiting Associate Professor Rachel Thomas Tharmabalan will give a special lecture to wrap up her stay at the Graduate School of Agriculture. This lecuter is open to anyone and will be given in English.
