KEIGLAD has just published the book Promoting the Rule of Law in Asian Dynamics as the Volume V of the PAGLEP Series. Based on the previous PAGLEP Series Volume I, II, III, IV and, this book aims to share our central concern of the comparative legal education by focusing on the rule of law in Mekong region countries and Japan.
The book’s uniqueness is that it provides the contemporary legal issues relating to the rule of law construction in Southeast Asia and Japan and how universities should contribute to the promotion of the rule of law. It should be our great honor if you are interested in the book and think about the rule of law in Asia.

Time flies fast!
KEIGLAD hold a Programs for Asian Global Legal Professions (PAGLEP) joint summer webinar 2020 with our partner universities from 1 to 5 September.
22 students from Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and Chile participated in the active and energetic 5 days intensive course

In the program, participants discussed about the promotion of rule of law from various legal aspects: the legal aid service and COVID-19; access to legal information; access to justice system; relationship between international laws and domestic laws and human right issues for labors and children.
Students also exchange opinion how their countries culture influences each country social structure.

In addition, they discussed about rule of law at practical legal fields: JROL project office; the Asian Foundation (Laos); Nagashima Ohio Tsunematsu Ho Chi Minh City Office(Vietnam) and MHM Yangon(Myanmar).

In the last day, students presented about their home countries current status of rule of law, challenges and future plans and exchange ideas.

It was our first attempt to holding the multilateral international program by Zoom.
We learned that we can do fruitful international communication, mutual learning and discussion even at the cyber space
The curiosity to the promotion of rule of law strongly tied all of us. The webinar was more real than on campus.
We amazed students energetic power which over the border, time differences and social distance.

We hope to see all in person near future.
"See You at the Next Session!"
