「できることガイド」を一緒に読みながら、ジェンダーやセクシュアリティに関わる大学の制度や環境について考えるイベントを開催します。

当日はガイドの内容を紹介したうえで、分かりにくいところはないか、実際に使いやすい制度になっているか、どんな視点や支援がまだ足りていないかなどについて、参加者どうしで自由に意見を交わします。ガイドを手がかりに、大学の現状を見つめ直し、これから何が必要かを考えていく場です。

ジェンダーやセクシュアリティに関わる大学の制度について知りたい方、気になることやモヤモヤがある方、大学の環境について考えてみたい方など、大学の構成員であればどなたでも歓迎します。専門的な知識は必要ありません。

皆さんの気づきや意見は、今後のガイドの改善や大学の環境をよりよくしていく取り組みに活かしていきます。ぜひお気軽にご参加ください。

Possibilities Guide...what the heck is that?: Read, Discuss, and Rethink University Systems from Gender Perspectives

Join us for a session where we read the “Possibilities Guide” together and reflect on university policies and campus environment.

In this event, we will introduce the guide and then open up a space for discussion. Participants will be invited to share their thoughts on questions such as whether any parts are unclear, how accessible and usable the current systems are, and what perspectives or forms of support may still be missing. Using the guide as a starting point, we will explore the current situation of the university and consider what could be improved.

This event is open to all members of the university community who are interested in learning more about policies related to gender and s*xuality, have questions or concerns, or would like to think more deeply about the campus environment. No prior knowledge is required.

Your insights and feedback will contribute to improving the guide and to future efforts to create a more inclusive university environment. We look forward to your participation.

On Sunday, May 10, 2026, the ICU Alumni Association will hold "Homecoming 2026," where Anniversary Reunions for alumni celebrating the 10th, 20th, 30th, and 40th anniversaries of their enrollment (ID90, 00, 10, 20) will also be “Mini Reunion” events organized by volunteer alumni.

髙内悠貴（Yuki Takauchi） 弘前大学人文社会科学部助教。イリノイ大学歴史学部博士課程修了、Ph.D.（歴史学）。専門はアメリカ近現代史、植民地主義史、ジェンダー／セクシュアリティ研究。論文に「不処罰を生み出す占領権力」『アメリカ史研究』第46号（2023年）、訳書としてアントワネット・バートン著『ジェンダー史入門』（勁草書房、2025年）など。

町田奈緒士（Naoto Machida） 奈良女子大学研究院人文科学系専任講師。京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科博士後期課程修了。博士（人間・環境学）。専門はジェンダー心理学、臨床心理学。主な業績として、『トランスジェンダーを生きる：語り合いから描く体験の「質感」』ミネルヴァ書房（2022年）、『からだは語る：身体性とジェンダーの精神分析』（第4・5章監修）木立の文庫（2025年）など。

Center for Gender Studies, Open Lecture Series: “SOGI on Social Science” (Spring Term: April - June 2026)

[Overview]
In recent years, alongside the growing recognition of the concept of SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity), research on gender and s*xuality diversity has steadily advanced within the social sciences.
This open lecture series consists of six sessions and introduces methodologies and perspectives on SOGI research across different social science disciplines. Through these lectures, the series aims to explore the current state and future prospects of the social sciences of SOGI.

【趣旨文】
本イベントは、近年社会的に可視化されつつある一方で、いまだ十分に研究が蓄積されていない非二元的な性の経験に対し、社会学はいかに応答しうるのかを検討することを目的とする。非二元的な性は、性的マイノリティのコミュニティ内部に確かに存在しつつも、歴史的にはしばしば不可視化されてきた。また近年では、トランスの人びととともに、さまざまな排除言説に晒されてもいる。本イベントでは、こうした問題意識を出発点として、「ノンバイナリーの社会学」と呼びうる視座の可能性を探る。
『非二元的な性を生きる――性的マイノリティのカテゴリー運用史』（明石書店、2025年）を上梓した武内今日子氏による報告に続き、トランス医療を専門とする小西優実氏や、女装コミュニティ研究を専門とする宮田りりぃ氏といった隣接領域からの応答を交差させることで、既存のトランスジェンダー研究やジェンダー／セクシュアリティ研究との連関と差異を浮き彫りにする。
これらの対話を通じて、ノンバイナリーをめぐる理論的・実証的課題と可能性を共有し、その社会学的探究の新たな射程を展望する。

関西学院大学社会学部教員。専門は社会学、ジェンダー・セクシュアリティ研究。とくにXジェンダー／ノンバイナリーの活動や概念の歴史を研究。近年はトランス・アーカイヴの形成に関心をもっている。主著に『非二元的な性を生きる：性的マイノリティのカテゴリー運用史』（明石書店、2025年）。

小西優実（東京大学大学院総合文化研究科博士課程）
東京大学大学院総合文化研究科博士課程。トランス医療のアクセスの問題を医療社会学に基づき研究。論文にIllness-care and validation-dependency in the diagnostic model for trans healthcare(2025年、Sociology of Health and Illness)、Trans depathologisation and gender identitity disorder in Japan(2024年、Social Science & Medicine)など。

宮田りりぃ（関西大学人権問題研究室 非常勤研究員）
専門は教育社会学。トランスジェンダーとセックスワーカーを主な対象に、「ジェンダーと教育」やエイズ対策政策に関する社会学的研究に取り組んでいます。主著に『トランスジェンダーの生活史：多様なジェンダー形成を切り開くために』（晃洋書房、2026）。

[Event Description]

This event aims to examine how sociology can respond to non-binary experiences, which have become increasingly visible in recent years but remain insufficiently researched. While non-binary experiences have certainly existed within s*xual minority communities, they have often been historically rendered invisible. In recent years, moreover, alongside trans people, they have also been exposed to various exclusionary discourses. Starting from these concerns, this event explores the possibilities of a perspective that might be called a “sociology of nonbinary.”

Following a presentation by Kyoko Takeuchi, author of Living Non-Binary Genders: A History of the Use of Gender/Sexual Minority Categories in Japan (Akashi Shoten, 2025), responses from adjacent fields will be brought into dialogue, such as Yuumi Konishi, who specializes in trans healthcare, and Lily Miyata, who studies cross-dressing communities. Through this exchange, the event will highlight both the connections with and differences from existing transgender studies and gender/s*xuality studies.

Through these discussions, the event seeks to share the theoretical and empirical challenges and possibilities surrounding non-binary experiences, and to envision new directions for sociological inquiry.

Kyoko Takeuchi（Department of Sociology, Kwansei Gakuin University）
Kyoko Takeuchi is a faculty member in the Department of Sociology at Kwansei Gakuin University. They specialize in sociology and gender and s*xuality studies, with a particular focus on the history of X-jendā/nonbinary activism and concepts. In recent years, they have also developed an interest in the formation of trans archives. Their major publication includes Hi-nigen-teki na Sei o Ikiru: Seiteki Mainoriti no Kategori Un’yōshi (Living Non-Binary Genders: A History of the Use of Gender/Sexual Minority Categories in Japan) (Akashi Shoten, 2025).

Yuumi Konishi (Ph.D Candidate, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo)
Yuumi Konishi is a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo. Her research focuses on issues of access to trans healthcare from a medical sociology perspective. Publications include Illness-care and validation-dependency in the diagnostic model for trans healthcare (2025, Sociology of Health and Illness) and Trans depathologisation and gender identity disorder in Japan (2024, Social Science & Medicine).

Lily Miyata (Part-time Researcher, Institute of Human Rights Studies, Kansai University)
They specialize in sociology of education. They mainly study transgender people and s*x workers. Their research looks at gender and education, as well as HIV/AIDS policy. Their main book is The Life Histories of Transgender People: Toward Opening Pathways for Diverse Gender Formation (Koyo Shobo, 2026).

On Leaving X (Formerly Twitter)

The Center for Gender Studies at International Christian University has been discussing how best to manage its use of X (formerly Twitter) in light of recent developments surrounding the platform.
As a result, we have decided to indefinitely suspend new posts on X (formerly Twitter) as of the end of March 2026.
Please note that the account will remain available as an archive so that past posts can continue to be accessed.

Going forward, CGS will complete its transition to Bluesky and Threads, and from April 2026 onward, we will share updates through the website in addition to our four platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and Threads.
Information on events and activities will be communicated through these channels, and we kindly invite you to follow us.

We value environments in which academic discussion and information sharing can take place in a safe and constructive manner.
We will continue to monitor the situation and select the most appropriate platforms for communication. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

☕ふわカフェのお知らせ☕

ジェンダーやセクシュアリティについて学ぶなかで、自分のモヤモヤが言語化されたり、仲間を見つけられたりすることもあれば、一方でよりモヤモヤが深まったり、苦しくなったりすることもあるのではないでしょうか？ジェンダー・セクシュアリティを学ぶとはどういうことか、ゆるく語らいませんか？
※今回はテーマの性質上学生限定（ICU以外の学生も歓迎です）とさせていただきます。

・入場無料、予約の必要はありません（茶菓代の寄付、お菓子の持ちよりは歓迎です！）
・途中からの参加、退室も自由です

ジェンダー・セクシュアリティに関して思ったことをセイファーな環境で「ふわっ」と共有する場です。学内外、ジェンダー、セクシュアリティなど問わず、グラウンドルールを守れる方は誰でも参加できます（力関係を生まないようにするため、教員は参加しません）。

This event is limited to students (non-ICU students are also welcome!) only.

- You are free to join late or leave early.

**What is Fuwa Café?**
Fuwa Café is a space to casually (“fuwa”) share thoughts about gender and s*xuality in a safer environment. Anyone who can respect the ground rules is welcome, regardless of university affiliation, gender, or s*xuality. (Faculty members do not participate, in order to avoid power dynamics.)

📚ランチタイムイベントのお知らせ🌈

ハルバスタム『クィアな時間と場所で』（https://www.kadensha.net/book/b10153044.html）日本語版の刊行を記念して、翻訳者・羽生有希さんをお迎えしたトークイベントを開催します。

小説、映画、絵画などにおけるジェンダー横断的な身体表象に注目しながら、「時間―空間」をクィア／トランスの視点から捉え直し、トランスジェンダーの生を語ることの困難と希望について考えます。

イベント後には、CGSにてゆったり交流会も予定しています☕
お昼を持っての参加も大歓迎です。

📚Lunchtime Talk🌈

To celebrate the Japanese publication of "In a Q***r Time and Place" by Jack Halberstam, we are hosting a talk with the translator, Yuki Hanyu.

Drawing on representations of gender-transgressive bodies in novels, films, and visual art, this event explores how “time and space” can be rethought from q***r and trans perspectives, and what it means to speak about transgender lives today.

A relaxed social gathering at CGS will follow the talk ☕
