Excerpt from the "Application Guidelines"
1.Courses
◆Course A (5 years)
-1 academic year of AU Intensive Japanese Course, and
-4 years of regular undergraduate course at AU
◆Course B (4 years)
-AU undergraduate course
2.Eligibility
(1)Nationality: Any Country from ASEAN except dual citizens in ASEAN country and Japan.
(2)Age:
Those who fulfill the following requirements a. or b.:
a. Current senior high school student who intends to
graduate by March, 2021
b. Those who have already graduated from high school between the periods indicated in “7. Application.”
(3)Education Background:
Those who finished or expected to finish the 12 years of education method in their country
(4)Japanese Language Ability:
Course A Those who hold N4 or N3 of the JLPT
Course B Those who hold N2 or N1 of the JLPT
3.Scholarship Period and Requirements
Course A: 5 years
Requirements:
1. To fulfill the recommendation requirement
2. To hold GPA 2.45 every year
Course B: 4 years
Requirement: To hold GPA 2.45 every year
4.Scholarship and Transportation Fee, etc.
(1) Scholarship:
a/ Tuition & Fees for Intensive Japanese Course
b/ Tuition and Fees for the Undergraduate Course
c/ Study Materials and Application Fee
d/ Share House Utility Fee (First 2 Years)
(2) Transportation Fee:
Arrival, Returning Airfare and Travel Insurance Fee must be paid by the Students.
5.Screening and Result Notification
◆Course A
(1) 1st screening is done based on the documents which are submitted to Asia University.
(2) To the applicants who passed the 1st screening, the 2nd screening will be done by the interview test in their country. The interview will entirely be done in Japanese.
(3) Those who passed the 2nd screening will be adopted as the scholarship student at Asia University.
(4) The result will be noticed by the way and date of AU appoints separately.
◆Course B
(1) Students apply for the AU’s entrance examination for international students “Type C”
(2) Applicants take the interview test in October in their country
(3) AU adopts scholarship students from the ones who passed both Type C and the interview test
(4) The result will be noticed by the way and date of AU appoints separately.
6.Education in the University
(1) Enter the AU Undergraduate Course:
◆Course A After the IJC with fulfilling the requirement for recommendation, considering the student’s will and academic records, students decide the course, and IJC recommends. The result will be announced by each faculty based upon the result of entrance examination (IJC Academic Records and Interview).
◆Course B Those who passed the AU entrance exam “Type C” and the interview test for scholarship can enter the undergraduate course at AU. If the applicant passed the “Type C” exam but failed the interview test, the applicant cannot receive the scholarship but can enter the AU as a private funded international student.
(2)Course: Every course starts from April and ends in March, next year.
(3)Language in Class: Japanese (except language class)
(4)Degree: To those who fulfill the requirement of graduation, bachelor’s degree will be conferred.
(5)Certificate: Along with the bachelor’s degree, Certificate of ASEAN-JAPAN Program will be conferred when they completed the AU designated course.
7.Application
◆Course A
Eligibility:
1. Those who are current senior high school student and are graduating by March, 2021. OR, Those who graduated with senior high school between March 12, 2019 and March 11, 2020, AND
2. Those who hold JLPT N3 or N4
Required Documents:
① Application Form (5 pages) *with face Photo
② Certificate of Academic Records from High School【Original】
③ Certificate of Graduation or of Expected Graduation【Original】
④ Recommendation Letter from High School Principal or Teacher【Original】
⑤ Certificate of Enrollment (only for those who currently belong to school)【Original】
⑥ The following documents (a.to e.) regarding financial supporter
a. Certificate of Employment
b. Certificate of Income
c. Certificate of Deposit
d. Certification of Relationship with the Applicant (Birth Certificate, etc.)
⑦ Certificate of JLPT (Original)
◆Course B JLPT N2 or N1 holder
Apply for the Screening for International Students’ Entrance Exam, Type C. The application schedule will be announced in June, 2020.
8.Housing
The first 2 years of share house utility fee will be paid as a part of scholarship. However,
students must be responsible for the meals and other living cost. In average, it costs around
50,000JPY per month.
After the 3rd year, students can live either in the same share house or an off-campus apartment on their own expense.
