Dear LUJ Alumni,
We have received news that an iconic former instructor and mentor has passed away. I am very sorry to report to you that Jane Goldstone died of cancer on September 26 in Canada, where she had retired. She leaves behind her husband Kenneth, a daughter and granddaughter. I am sure they will sorely miss the woman they, and we, loved.
For those of us who remember Jane as the dedicated, energetic, hard-working instructor and genial, cheerful, serene friend and teacher that she was, please consider attending the memorial ceremony that will be held for her. Although Jane had resigned from LUJ nearly two years ago, I am sure many of us can still picture this wonderful, remarkable individual in our mind’s eye.
The Bahai Center informed us of Ms. Goldstone’s passing, as there will be a memorial service for her on Saturday. As former students and friends, LUJ alumni are most welcome to join for even a short time if they would like to do so. Jane devoted much of her life outside of teaching to the work of the Bahai faith. It is fitting, therefore, that Jane’s memorial service will be held at the Bahai Center. Below is information regarding that service.

A memorial here in Japan will be held for friends and colleagues on Saturday, October 13, from 1:00-3:00PM. There will be no formal dress code for the memorial service.
