The Government of Kenya, in partnership with the World Bank, is implementing the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP) 2016 – 2021. The project development objective of KYEOP is to increase employment and earning opportunities among targeted young people across Kenya. The main beneficiaries of the proposed project will be youth between 18-29 years of age (with some component extending up to 35 years) who are jobless and have experienced extended spells of unemployment or who are currently working in vulnerable jobs. The level of education of targeted beneficiaries will be up to Form 4. This program will provide selected Kenyan youth with an opportunity to acquire relevant work experience and skills, through a training program.
In the first cycle of this training program, the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) is expected to train youths in Core Business Skills Training (CBST) in five (5) counties i.e. Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale, Nakuru and Kisumu.
