The Vice Chancellor expressed his gratitude to Equity Bank for its continued support of youth talent development and the creative arts. He commended the bank for recognizing and rewarding excellence among young people and for its partnership with institutions of higher learning. He further congratulated the Drama Team, its trainers, and the entire University community for bringing honor to Kibabii University through their exemplary performance at the national festival.

Kibabii University, in partnership with Safaricom and other stakeholders, on Thursday, 21st May 2026 conducted a tree planting exercise in Kopsiro Sub County as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration, and climate action. The exercise planted over 5,000 trees within the designated area, contributing to the broader national environmental restoration agenda aligned with Kenya’s target of planting 15 billion trees by the year 2032.

Kibabii University’s Dr. Fred Simiyu, alongside four other scholars, has secured a £9,300.76 grant from the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) under the Stirling Social Science Impact Acceleration Account (SSSIAA). Dr. Simiyu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Kiswahili and Other African Languages (KOAL) in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS). He also serves as the Chairman of CHAKITA, the national body dedicated to the promotion and advancement of Kiswahili.
